ercdvs
I got the brake pedal on 99% of the way (one year after dead pedal.. SLOW install ) That thing is a bitch. Its holding now, but I would rather it go 100% of the way.. time to lube it up.. is it possible to buy a new electronic metal acc pedal, rather then hammer out that pin? LawGT
is it possible to buy a new electronic metal acc pedal, rather then hammer out that pin? sure, but it will cost you. Its holding now, but I would rather it go 100% of the way.. time to lube it up.. is it possible to buy a new electronic metal acc pedal, rather then hammer out that pin? I have a 5mt and had MAJOR problems installing the Clutch and Brake. I did a search on this forum and found the 'easy' way to do it. Sit in the drivers seat and press on the brake pedal from bottom to the top in one smooth fashoin it will strecth the rubber and it will fall onto the pedal . Try this I bet it will work. Good luck. Canon20D
Got mine from a LGT member who bought them for an 07 - Doh! ^^^ Hint The dead pedal, clutch and brake went rather flawlessly. I used a bit of the old 5min 2 part epoxy to make sure they never leave =D The go pedal was a bitch, but thats cause it was 10 pm and i didnt wanna be hammering it out in my apartment, but i finally went outside and used the concrete Was anyone elses an expansion pin? That made it a real PITA! I could grab it for the life of me with pliers or anything. When i had it almost all the way out, i acutlly clutched it into my cordless drill and spun it a few times and that loosened it enough to get it all the way out. Once it was out (iow: compressed) it had no problem sliding into the new pedal =D going to reinstall tomorrow AM with a few spacers I have left over..i figure 3 or so should raise it up, least its an easy mod if I find thats to high
Canon20D
Heres pics of the final install! I used i think either 5 or 6 3/8" washers (from the hogzaust mod) to raise the bottom of the pedal up. Now its level with the other pedals! But when pressing on the brake, the gas is actully Higher than the brake now.. so its basiclly still the same problem, but in reverse. I think im going to take out 2 washers and see what happens. Canon20D
Thanks! I do need to lower the gas though, its so high now its almost uncomfortable to keep your foot at that angle when using low amount of Go...
spicytuna
That is a really cool mod! I wonder when the 07 kit will come out? Now I have another thing to add to my waiting list. (The other being an AP of course!)
PeterJMC
Just installed these WRX pedals on my car and they look awesome! Just bumping this thread so people know about these that don't know about them already. Gas and Clutch are a pain in the ass to get the top part of the cover over the pedal. I can't believe that I waited 3 years before thinking of buying and installing these bad boys. FredBeansParts did a great job shipping these to me suuuuper fast!!! maddoc
I installed a set as well about a week ago. Mastro told me they wouldnt fit, but I insisted to the guy that 05-06 is cool, 07 is the single pedal Finally got them, with the autospeed deadpedal (sick!) I'm still (slowly) trying to pull the little rubber over the pedal for the clutch and brake pedal...I've had the brake cover fall off on me a few times now I had a set on my old 2.5RS as well, so i know the pain in getting these on ! Madjik_Man
I so badly want these pedals. One quick question. Is there any more "slippage" when you shoes are a little sloppy from snow/rain/mud?
mikeislord
I so badly want these pedals. One quick question. Is there any more "slippage" when you shoes are a little sloppy from snow/rain/mud? +1 +1 +1 I was thinking this exact thing as I read your post. When I got my LGT, it already had the STI style pedals on it. They are metal and extremely slippery when it's wet out. I actually have a pair of shoes that I cannot wear when I drive the LGT because its almost impossible to get my foot from slipping off the clutch when I'm shifting. Waxiboy
Did my WRX pedal yesterday. Clutch and brake were a bit of a PITA because for some reason, the top part of my rubber pedals were super glued to the pedal itself . I had to scrape off the glued-on rubber with a cutter blade. The pedals were tight at first, but after some soapy water and a small screwdriver, I was able to fit them in. Now the accelerator pedal, what can I say...... That pin was tough to get out. Took me about 40 minutes to do this one. Now I look at my pedals and there is a big on my face. Just need to get the dead pedal this Friday. Jester
Fitted a full set today, took just over an hour, but I did have another gas pedal to practice on 1st! as they were from an '05 Impreza STi. Cheers for all the tips and info http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/esders1/the%20odd%20photo/5d4a_1.jpg Here's the RHD way with the dead pedal on the tunnel, a la JDM http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/esders1/the%20odd%20photo/P5030120.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/esders1/the%20odd%20photo/P5030118.jpg
