fahr_side
This. So really, it's a slight redesign. It's probably also cheaper to cast the bellmouth without the divider... Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs. LosAngelesLGT
CNT 3" Catted Downpipe ...Fitment is sub par, but it is well enough that it does not drag the ground. Its as important to know about product/mfr info as to know your way around a shop: CNT is happy to replace any issues. BAC did not want his issue fixed so he got a refund. You made decision to keep your odd fitment CNT as they would have replaced it with one that has perfect fitment like the rest of us have. Ultimately, that was your decision since they would have replaced it and occasional odd fitment of an item that a mfr replaces hardly places it in this thread. I would also point out that the CNT is not a knockoff, its merely cheap.
brum
Only issues I've had to so far with my FMS FMIC is the wrong length bolts being supplied with the kit and the "powder coating" on my pipes to scratch off with a fingernail. CNT downpipe is awesome for the price. I wouldn't buy any other one now.

That and had already painted, wrapped, and siliconed it.. I wasnt up to do it all again. Yes that was my decision, and I am fine with it. Its not a terrible fitment. With some more persuasion it will be fine. Just need about an inch.

mattg
My GMS inlet review - Installation I installed mine at my friends shop last night. I would consider it a pretty difficult install. I was ready to give up but my friend Barrett at AllWheelsDriven made it work. We had to remove the bolts from my TGV housings to loosen the intake to get it to go on. We also lubed the crap out of it and it took 3 sets of hands to get it on the turbo. Me pushing on the intake end, Barrett working a pick at the turbo end, and another guy with a long screwdriver prying the turbo end of the inlet toward the passenger side. Like someone said earlier in the thread, a little jog at the turbo end of the inlet (ala Samco) would make install much easier. I popped the metal collar out of the end of the stock inlet and put it in the inlet side of the coupler between the inlet and intake so I could clamp the GMS onto the coupler. Wasn't expecting to have to do that but it worked fine. FWIW, Barrett said the install would be easier with a stock turbo. My 18g has a longer inlet area that has a small lip on the end. He thinks that's part of the reason why it was such a bear to slide it on. In the end it took 4 hours + for the install. Aftermath This inlet isn't working out on my car. And neither the vendor or GMS will do anything about it. This is what I found when I went to show the inlet to a friend the day after the 4 hour + installation struggle (which included unbolting my intake, and 3 sets of hands to get it into place). http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/legacygt/large/IMG_2933.jpg Now look at how the inlet fits on the opposite (drivers) side of the turbo. http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/legacygt/large/IMG_2937.jpg Notice how it's as far as it can go onto the turbo? Sure seems like if the inlet had the jog to the passenger side at the turbo end like the Perrin and Samco do, it would fit my car properly. GMS claims it's because my car doesn't have a stock turbo (although he won't communicate with me). Strange that my turbo is a stock location turbo that worked with a stock location TMIC. Strange that my OEM inlet hose fit on this turbo. Very strange indeed. I feel like I am being left high and dry in this situation. Josh (IIR) said that he's not the manufacturer so it's not his problem. And he doesn't accept returns on used products. He referred me to Nino at GMS. Nino has received my emails and a voice mail, and hasn't responded. Not that it really matters because I get the feeling he isn't going to help me either. I ended up replacing this with a new OEM inlet and sold the GMS. Lesson learned.

BAC5.2
Funny. A little looking brings Josh and Nino as good buddy pals, with their domains registered just 10 miles apart. In fact, Josh actually bought Nino's 06 STi from him a few years back. Nino at GMS used to own Nino's Auto Accessories. Google that name for a good time. The advantage he took of the community is astounding! BAC5.2
About Ninos? They spent a bunch of time knocking off other peoples stuff (just like GMS still does) and treating people terribly. Ask Tom at Kartboy how he feels about them... BAC5.2
Nasioc review of FMS TMIC: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=35674423&postcount=33 Okay... as a budgeted person, i did some searches before i bought this thing, i read GOOD and BAD reviews. So i thought it wont be that bad. But trust me, now i understand why this is so crappy.... The 2 metal brackets FMS provided was absolutely garbage.... They just coated BLACK with some rusted up metal..... I bought this from Import Image Racing.... this intercooler came a little dented up, and i even got it custom paint it. I asked for a GOLD CORE with BLUE WRX LETTERING, the lettering ended up being BLACK. So honestly IIR, i paid extra for the custom color and it comes in a WRONG COLOR, and a DENTED core.... So are there something that you guys should do to compensate for the wrong color and damage? And also the BOV bolts did not fit the factory one, i had to get a thread repair kit from SEARS to fit it, but 1 hole ended up fine, the other didnt for some odd reason. So i had to use J-B weld to patch up the hole with the screw to hold it in place..... Which i dont even know how i will take this junk off when im ready to give it up....but as of now i do not have enough to afford a Process West, but i wish i went with it when i had the chance. Called me dumb, but i was not able to just picture where everything is suppose to go. I had to post up something here to ask for instruction to finally be able to figure this out. And im truely sorry Kevin for telling u i got a PW, but i was desperate to fix this junk, becasue i already broke a screw and needed to order a new heat shield bracket. So hopefully u will understand why i asked you for instructions. And last but not least is the plastic lining that is suppose to hook up to the metal hood duct, those things just wont stay on? It's completely USELESS. Words of advice is, if u think after all this i been through and is worth it for you to save half the price of the real PW, then go for it. That same guy, IIR asked him to commit insurance fraud and blame FedEx for the damage (and the wrong paint color?) And just saying Fedex did the damage, but it was obvious it was either the manufacture, or the painting process They asked that I do the same thing, and try to blame FedEx for manufacturing defects. AZP Installs
Here is our take on knockoff parts. We generally steer our customers away from knockoffs, sometimes they fit perfect. Sometimes they take 10 hrs to install what would normally take 2 hrs. We have fixed install prices based on 11+ years of doing installs, we know how long it should take. If a customer insists on a knockoff part, we do it "as is" and charge per hr for the install until it is right. We also do not guarantee it wont leak. It is also a shame that we provide technical support, along with M Sprank for a lot of parts that Walmart-like companies cant do for thier own parts. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. But I've had a bad experience with them, and won't likely buy from them again. Lardo420
I'm not trying to start something here, but are there general issues with IIR as a vendor? I have done almost all of my business thru them, and have only had one bad experience, which was mentioned in my post about the FMS FMIC, which they corrected for me free of charge. I recently referred a friend there, and he received his parts muy rapido.
BAC5.2
Regarding the history of GMS: Back in the day, Nino owned Ninos Auto Accessories. He stole about $5k from customers and then went bankrupt, moved to Florida from Jersey and was working at a dealership selling used cars. That's where he and Josh crossed paths. Apparently Josh, after moving to FL for school, but before IIR, was trying to sell potentially-stolen STi interiors for like $400.
