I had an FMIC. I got tired of all the piping, the boost leaks, and the lag when everything was put together right.

In all seriousness, this is a very good post. with racerX I'm pretty much constantly worried about pipes rubbing on different parts of the block, bumper, etc. You're never convinced that the noises you're hearing are really turbo spool noises and you think every high pitched noise is a leak at a coupling.

Its really unfortunate that I don't have the option of using a TMIC b/c of my location. Heat soak 75% of the time, 9 months out of the year here :(

Stuck686 will ignore a MANY page thread an a post about fitment issues to hear only what he wants. Very shortly there will be another build thread full of poor fitment. (I would point out that a catback for anyone below stage 3 with fueling is all about sound and looks)

I'm just giving my feedback of a few different locals that have it. I agree that the price is right. But I'm super OCD and that would bother me. I adjust my borla once a month because sometimes when I look at it one tip looks a hair lower than the other.

Fits better than the gimmick piece lol

Atleast the ones I've seen.

Haaa. Funny. That's like saying the quality at Walmart is better than Kmart. :(

The issue with a lot of these lower end knockoffs is not so much a matter of quality but quality control. We've seen about 35% of the time they are fine. The issue is that with the balance they do not fit properly. So if you have time and money to play around with the parts not fitting, then go for it. :)

The CX_Racing catback i bought for my 05 LGT from ETD Motors on EBay is def defective. The left muffler is bent inward and the left muffler pipe just before the flange is snug up against the side of the under carriage exhaust channel, when it should be flush and in the middle. However, it bolts up fine with no leaks and sounds amazing. I paid $329.99 for it new, of course its a jigged Perrin knock off, and since im a perfectionist ill be replacing it this summer. If you can deal with the imperfections go for it, but if you want better quality, walk away. I also bought a GrimmSpeed knock off up pipe, but my peer group in my 4th Gen forum will crucify me if i put it on. LosAngelesLGT is assisting me in finding a safer alternative! Thanks for listening;)
