Spoonwacker
Who knew Subaru drivers were such brand snobs? And why is it that the brand snobs seem to think the Subaru is a rebadged Toyota when the opposite is the case? sorry...this forum practically blows goat nuts so im not always on here.Team Pony Express POSTED FROM MY COMPUTER USING A WEB BROWSER
I Donated thefultonhow Posted April 10, 2012 I Donated Share Posted April 10, 2012 Subaru is about to share a model with Scion I don't get why you care. Subaru did the development on both models.
TrueWhiteBoy
I don't get why you care. Subaru did the development on both models. Exactly. I've been seeing it all over autoblog too, I have no idea why some people are bitter that it's being marketed as a Scion/Toyota.
TrueWhiteBoy
It happens with any and every car, especially sports cars. I've seen plenty of stupid things done to 328s all the way up to M3s sadly. I'm sure there will be some stupid things done to it, but most teens can't afford a 24K car off the bat, so we probably have 2-3 years before we see too much stupid stuff done to them. GEE-OTTO
I don't get why you care. Subaru did the development on both models. The BRZ is far from vanilla, it is more like Magno Gelato. I like the car, feels good inside and is a fresh model to the lineup. I simply wanted to point out that , I hope Subaru doesn't get folded into the mix by Toyota. TrueWhiteBoy
Not for $27k;) I'm curious what would fit that bill that was higher. I'm guessing their high end X series, but I don't know what else. Also, I don't have sound, but do they mention what the FRS puts down at the wheels?

LegGTLT
Looks like it's not the end of the world after all. I don't even think that FR-S is that ghetto or ricey, looks pretty good actually. CasopoliS
For comparison's sake, the MX-5 has 167 at the crank. So compared to that... not too shabby. Compared to the genesis coupe... now that is a different story. Though they are not the same car, they will certainly be cross-shopped.

JSaladino
what the heck is going on between about 3250 and 4500 rpm?!? looks to me like it could use the following: 1. a turbo 2. high flow exhaust from headers back 3. new heads/cams for a 9k rpm redline
Spoonwacker
It does look odd; I've seen it mentioned in a bunch of reviews that include dyno graphs, but nobody's said it's particularly noticeable from the driver's seat. Might be the switchover from port injection to direct injection? Other than that it's a nice flat torque curve... sorry...this forum practically blows goat nuts so im not always on here.Team Pony Express POSTED FROM MY COMPUTER USING A WEB BROWSER

This was reportedly done by engineers on purpose to increase driving pleasure lower in the rev range, which sounds like a solid compromise to us." Not sure how it increases driver pleasure, but that's the excuse they give. Anyone know how that increases driver pleasure?
