How did I miss this thread?!

I like everything I just read. I hate the large key and teardrop remote. I am all about condensing.

My personal preference would be a brushed finish and engraved spec.B #123/500, but the engraving I could do if you decide not to do custom ones.

Glad to hear it. The results of the poll are great! I've got a TON on my plate as the semester draws to an end and my research begins piling up. I'm still hoping to finish the prototype for the end of May, but we'll see what happens.

Biggie - Let me finish the Subaru keys, and then I'll see about tackling the GM key. That key looks turrible, so hopefully I can work something out. You might have to buy me a blank key and spare remote though.

I have a spare id be willing to part with if needed.... Ill buy a blank key too. Just help me make this thing go away

Your 2010 has the same blade as the 09 Impreza key, I think.

Not to worry, I am working on making it so that current AIO owners can simply transplant their blade.

Gonna be gone long? I can always mail. Things have gotten MASSIVELY crazy with my research. My deadline for a submission just jumped a week and a half closer, so I'm under the gun to finish that.

Thesis or dissertation?

Thesis right now. I'm going to hold off on a Ph.D for now. I might go back and get one after my wife finishes hers, or I might get an MBA. I have time to make that decision, though.

My thesis isn't due yet. I'll defend/graduate in December. What's due in 9 days, is a report on modification of my test fixture and drive system. What's due 14 days after that, is a midterm report on the current state of my research. For the rest of the year, I'm going to be busy as hell.

Not usually. Maybe 6 hours max, if I'm lucky. Usually 4-5.

+1 if you do a version that will work for the 08 square version. I always get the oddball year of cars....

Depending on price, a Ti or tungsten would be nice and have the bling factor. We use some tungsten at work, if need be I can check our suppliers.

Tomkat - I'll send you a PM about material.

BMX - Maybe I can see about getting a TMNT logo etched on yours.

I'm REALLY hoping to stay on target for the end of the month having a prototype. I'm looking at mid-end of summer for full production of the AIO key, and hopefully the teardrop as well.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just a quick side note for y'all...

My brother works at the local Home Depot, and he said they recently got a big shipment of new machinery for their key cutting machine. The descriptive info on the machinery specifies that they will soon be able to program the immobilizer chips for many auto brand's new keys so long as the customer has an original key with a programmed chip in it already which they can copy. If this is true it may not solve the keyless entry programming that would be required, but neat none the less and would remove one more step for us.

It depends on the the car manufacturer, for instance my rx8 I couldn't, also depends on the machine, done can do fords, but not mazdas (they use the same immobilizer) if then, sometimes they can only program their key, which all they are doing is copying your key to the new one. Just had to deal with that...lol
