Added my vote, just traded in my vdub bunny for my leggy and I have the teardrop key, would totally love to have it all back in one package like the vdub key. ....and it is pretty fun to pull out your key and flip it at people and declare "en garde!" also subbed

Just found the thead. is this still happening/are they available? used to have a VW and would love to have the flip key back - it's the only thing I miss about that car (these gas prices are making me miss the TDI milage too though)

Still on radar, but other things have precedence... like graduation and jobs I get paid for.

I've see the ikeyless, but I'm concerned with security. I don't like the idea of defeating the immobilizer, but I love the smart key concept.

This is still side lined. After the large initial quote I received, I am not entirely inclined to move forward. I'll revisit it after I finish up my Thesis and get the next few hectic months sorted out.

I might make a key of my own by hand, but I won't personally be able to mass produce them.

Ummm not to rain on anyone's parade but there has been a solution made to this interest. I have about 3 flip keys OEM look/feel that work with no problems. They fit my 09 FOB inside and then you place your Transponder chip in it and get the key cut. Very very simple. total cost was around $60
