any update on a new revision for this?

So here's an update on my deal.

I spoke to Bernard at Jetworld (parent company of Invidia) and he worked with me to get the new V3 to me. He and I have been talking over the past few weeks. On last thursday, he did a test fitting on another legacy with a catted Invidia DP (just like my set up) and he said it worked out great. He's shipping it to my shop (Agile) this week. I expect to get the new CBE and DP installed the weekend after next. We'll see how it goes.

Curious to see what Invidia has come up with on the 3rd go round. Please take lots of pics prior to install if possible. Wish full thinking list of changes i would like to see on V3.

Repositioned flex joint....Flanged joints....120 deg. Y pipe leading to better inlet pipe angle to mufflers....more room for sway bar brackets.... Shorten exhaust overall.

Still a little too loud for me as is. So sexy to look at though.

Might I be the first one to receive the V3? I just received mine from Invidia and the changes made to the exhaust from V1 are pretty significant.

There are NO slip joints. The y-pipe is one piece. The mufflers bolt onto the y-pipe and there the angled pipe going under the axle is its own piece. So, the exhaust is now separate pieces.

I'll try to get pictures if I can, not very good with all that lol.

How loud is this exhaust? Is this the q300?

I just want something a tad bit louder than stock to hear a bit of the rumble. I don't want it to be any louder inside the car when cruising or light acceleration, and absolutely no drone - I drive many highway miles with people in the car and having conversations is kinda important :)

Maybe there is a better option that fits my goals?

You'll want to go with Borla.

The Q300 is noticeably louder than stock, from inside the cabin. It's far from a conversation killer, but I would say that it's more than what you're looking for.

^ Well....different people perceive drone, differently. It's a really "CYA" thing to say, but it's the truth. For example, sitting in the back seat, my stepfather didn't notice the drone on my previous exhaust setup, by my mother did.

What's known is that the Borla is among the quietest, if not is the quietest, outright, available for the BL.

I just noticed that you're a BP - I honestly am not sure if there's a model available for you, but a good muffler shop should be able to extend the tips easily...however, this has further implications of what may drone.....

Well, it's gotta be a good start - starting with the quiestest BL exhaust - right? :)

I'll have to see if I can find any BP guys with it installed.

thanks

I've had this system on my car now since about January of this year. it was doing great for awhile but now after a few road trips this summer I have noticed my bumper is melting.

maybe its my fault though since I installed the system on a wagon. :(

I wish I could find a JDM bumper for a reasonable price or some way to extend the pipes without them looking really stupid.

anybody got any tips?

ps one other thing I've noticed. the exhaust gets significantly louder and better sounding after you've put 20K miles on it. go figure...

I got the Q300 installed by Agile yesterday...mixed reviews.

First, it looks great. The mufflers are final parallel. I had an Invidia catted DP and with the v2, Agile had to cut the DP to get the CBE to fit. Invidia sent me a new DP with the v3 and everything lined up. Most of the redesign is in the Y-pipe back.

But here's the problem, the mid-pipe/Y-pipe flange is positioned directly under the driver rear control arms. With the car on lift, the unloaded suspension made direct contact with the mid-pipe/Y-pipe flange. Why the flange wasn't positioned 2" further up the mid-pipe. I'll attach pictures.

First..here's the before picture. You can see that the mufflers aren't parallel.

The v2 and v3. Notice the alignment of the v2.

This is the after. The passenger side is good, but there's not a lot of clearance. It's not touching, but it's awfully close.

Finally, look at the lack of clearance of the midpipe/Y-pipe flange right at the driver rear control arms.

Lastly, however slight, you can see on the old Invidia DP where we had to cut just below cat. The resulting DP curve is slightly sharper. New new DP and v3 fit perfectly. Although the fit is tight, I've got STi hangers and so far, the fit is barely moving.

It looks like the mufflers aren't centered on the exhaust cutout... is that the design or is it just because of the burn in your bumper? Think they'd fit centered on a non-violated cutout?

Those pics of the control arm (like you said) are with the suspension unloaded, on a lift... what kind of clearance is there when the suspension is loaded? It's gotta be substantially more... any pics?

the funny thing is I had mine custom fitted at midas.

so it fit as good as it possibly could on a wagon.

still melted though.

I wish I could say if it was because the tips didn't stick out far enough or if it was a clearance issue.

I'm going to wait until it gets bad and then try and find a replacement bumper since mine is already scraped up on the rear passenger side from getting too close to a brick planter.

on the replacement I'll probabably do some aluminum heat shielding and maybe the alum. muffler garnishes that can be bought from AVO. we'll see what the budget can handle...

One thing is for sure. it seems Invidia has forgetten how to make an exhaust kit that fits.

Holy crap how many revisions are they going to need before they get fitment right?

Sadly, I very much agree.

This is most disappointing, to see failures revision after revision.

Why can virtually all of the other companies get things right - but Invidia cannot? :(

So when the car is on the ground, is the problem still present? The control arms raise when the car is on the ground, so no part of the exhaust would touch, correct? I'm so interested in this exhaust but I need to know it'll be fitted right.

Per request, I took pictures with the car on all fours. I have to agree with chutrain, the sound is awesome. And either because the second DP didn't need to get cut, or the new bends in the v3, the v3 sounds even better than the v2.

Here's a look a the infamous mid-pipe/Y-pipe flange

Checkout how close the fit of the mufflers are to the bumper. There's just barely enough for air to get through.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That is exactly how my V1 fit before i had the mid pipe fixed.

Is there any chance they sent you the wrong downpipe? It blows my mind if Invidia is continually producing this exhaust an inch too long. How's the space over by the driver side sway bracket? Please Invidia!Shorten the mid pipe 1 inch. This will take the flange off the lateral arm,and move the mufflers off the bumper and bodywork......I have a V3 to test fit,but need to find the time to install.
