I think thats the 2010, the 2009 is the same as the 08. There is also alot of talk that the 2010 wil lbe a 2.5liter.

Just posting what Autoblog is saying, but I think you are right that it's MY10 for USDM. According to Mazda's own PR the MS3 will come with the MZR 2.3 not 2.5.

At least it is sharper than Quasimodo-esque Impreza.

Not much of a great looker, but not hard to be better than Impreza, on the looks...

But it probably won't touch WRX or WRX STI in terms of driving dynamics.

Yet again... you can get looks or technical prowess, but not both together.:spin:

Too bad there isn't a three door attractive impreza bodystyle, or the Impreza sedan being as good looking as the 3 sedan, with Subie AWD and boxer power.

There is only Legacy GT, and that is on it's way into the sunset, with the likelyhood of an ugly replacement.

The current Speed3 is quite loved by the car mags and most place it at the top of the sub $30k hot hatch category.

Maybe in early '08.

The WRX 265 has pretty much had its way with the MS3. The current MS3 usually places dead last now but it was coming to the end of its run. Although, things change very quick in this segment......

Mazda has some tough competition with the Cobalt SS and WRX 265.

Hopefully, the new scoop helps the MS3 with its heat soak issues.

who wa the guy that thought a TMIC w/o a hood scoop was a bright idea anyway?

did they forget heat rises? When you're sitting still in traffic at least the heat can rise out of the scoop.. I dont know that the difference is substantial but.. a heavy metal hood closed over a radiator is just a dumb idea imo.

tbh I think of the ms3 like the srt4... it may be fast and deserve respect for that.. but its just an economy car with a fast engine really..

Just got a Car and Driver last month and they still love the MS3 over the WRX... They also have their facts kinda skewed though... They were saying that the new WRX has performance equal to the STi (or something that made it sound like it was near identical to the STi)... But yet they still rated the MS3 higher, one of the meters was the "fun to drive" though which they rated the highest... Not sure how, I'm not a fan of the torque steer on FWD... lol

If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off.

 That's funny, you realize the STI is "just" an econo car with ballz right??

Don't forget the Impreza is an "economy" car too.

Base Impreza i starts @ $16,995 (http://www.edmunds.com/subaru/impreza/2008/index.html#search=open.eq..amp.p.eq.cvehicledata%23%23-1%23%23-1~~nf12||537562617275)

Base Mazda 3 starts @ $18,315 with the 2.3L engine (http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/mazda/mazda3/101037244/prices.html)

Look, lots of cars have humble roots, but for Subaru fanboi's (myslef included) to say that other cars are no good because they have enono roots too is just silly.

I don't read C&D anymore and haven't respected any of their reviews for a long time.

Thats exactly what i thought when i read his comment lol. Most sports sedans/ sport hatchs all have a non sport counterpart that they came from

well, consider the majority of sales for the product.

I dont have any numbers but if I had to take a shot I'd say the majority of buyers of the WRX get the turbo. and only a few really buy the wrx base and the wrx sti. (this is of course ignoring the factor of environment.. you may have more up north than here.)

the exact opposite is true for the mazdaspeed and mazda platform for the 3 and 6. You see FAR FAR more base 3s and 6s thanyou see speed3s and speed6s.

I think of the wrx more as a fanboi car with an econo counterpart than the opposite.

Look at it this way.. even the base model WRX has the stiff chassis and AWD components that are required for its STI counterpart. The car is built down not built up like the ms3. The ms3 feels very economy when riding in it.The seats are hard and uncomfortable yet leather wrapped, the interior is noisy and uninsulated, the exhaust is loud and comes across as an afterthought.

there is a big difference between the wrx and the ms3.

That could very well be the ugliest grille design of all time.

I think your forgetting about this:
