After almost a whole year of waffling back and forth on whether or not to do a front mount, I finally gave in to the dark side. My soul now sports a "Property of Satan" stamp on it. :icon_twis

It was worth it in the end though, as I got the following fitted on:

- GReddy front mount intercooler

- SARD fuel pump

- HKS Twin Power Ignition Amplifier

- Custom modification to the Blitz intake

The installer, Phat GT (on Liberty.Asn.Au) took a GReddy FMIC kit made for the Liberty and customised the heck out of it. By doing that he was able to:

- Invert the intercooler so that the piping does not interfere with the foglights and washer bottle (original kit as well as most front mount kits for the Liberty call for the re-location of the washer bottle in front of the passenger side wheel as well as the removal of foglights)

- Use less piping by curving it to a more direct path and ensured no contact with any other part (original kit calls for piping to go over some areas with contact with other parts)

- Make it not to obvious to the casual observer. If anyone were to lift the bonnet you wouldn't be able to tell it's a front mount setup.

Here are some pics for anyone interested:

Test fitting to ensure all the pipes are in place and not interferring with anything.

Inside the engine bay after some of the CF covers went on. Except for the noticeable gap where the top mount used to be, the front mount setup is hard to spot

For the time being the opening where the top mount used to be has been covered with black mesh, making it even harder to notice it's not a stock setup.

Front view of the car. Front mount is hardly noticeable I think!

whey arith, that is seriously a fantastic setup. i should say "sleeper to the max" or similar. i'm also curious about that engine cover, cause i've never seen it before, what brand/model is it? also, considering the bumpers need a bumper beam, did the FMIC take over its position?

The carbon fiber engine cover and the other CF covers (battery, brake, fuse box, etc) are from Zero/Sports in Japan. They have quite a few performance and aero items for the Legacy.

also, considering the bumpers need a bumper beam, did the FMIC take over its position?

Unfortunately that's the sacrifice in this case. If I were to have left my car there for a month, there would have been an even more customised install that would work around the beam. But alas, I didn't have the time. The front mount and the radiator brace will absorb a little bit, but it's definitely no replacement for the beam.

Amazing car..do you have any photos of the FMIC piping that runs along the passenger side (driver side in the US) of the engine? I am interested in seeing how they ran the pipe under the fuel lines and around the air pump, looks very, very clean.

I don't have that many for that side, but here are a few. Hope it answers yours questions. But the original battery had to be replaced with a half sized one in order for the pipe to squeeze through and a custom flange was made to accommodate the Go Fast Bits blow off valve. I've highlighted the route of the pipe in red in case it was hard to spot.

It reminds me of the farmerjohn car porn from years past... but this sedan has so many incredibly high end JDM parts on it, I weep golden tears every time I come into this thread.

^ on this forum alone.

but the emissions thing is only going to get worse. I imagine within 10 years we're going to have a ban on cars like ours to even operate at all.
