09 Smaller Key Fob

Recommended Posts

$65 from Fredbeans and they'll cut the key if you submit your VIN; that means you just have to link the remote, and have the dealer program the transponder.. Which hopefully they'll do for free since you already have it cut and the fob is linked.

Could they just use the "Key Code" instead of the VIN?

The dealer closest to me quoted me $90 for the key and $40 to program it. Next time I'm at my dealer, I'm going to find out how much they would charge.

$40 to program is good. buy the key from fredbeans or subaruparts.com for 60 bucks.

I wouldn't need it programmed for immobilization since I don't have a GT. :( I can do the programming of the remote myself after reading the manual. All I would need is the key cut and Fredbeans could do that.

I'd so do this..

if...

(story of my life... :( )

I'm in the same boat but on a different level. I'm broke and unemployed. :(

link no work.

That's weird. I tested it twice before posting; I wonder if ebay is limiting the ability to directly link to their site?

The seller posted the key by the FCC id no., so you have to search for subaru legacy key and sift through the results until you find it.

07 specb B.

Everything works great. Bought key at Fred Beans and had it cut and programmed when I had some other work done. They did want all my keys though when they reprogrammed.

which particular key?

is it bulky?

I assume its the key this thread is dedicated to and that we have all been talking about/purchasing.

it's barely thicker (1/8") than the remote fob separate that came with our cars. I find that it's a substantially better fit in my pocket than key + fob.

i emailed fredbeansparts.com and they said that key was 4" x 3.5". 4" long and 3.5" wide. it does not look 3.5" wide.
