If it's a switchblade style I'm in for at least one. Maybe two.

Here is my story!

I bought a used remote key off eBay.

When I got it I found that the shaft was molded into the plastic and could not just be pulled out and duplicated.

I had to break it out.

I was able to break it out by just pulling up on the shaft.

Then I cut the head as close as I could with the shape I had to work with to allow for it to fit in place of the key that I broke out of the remote.

The original shaft that was in the remote was threaded. I drilled a hole and put a screw through into the plastic on the other half of the remote.

So for so good.

I have to say that I am pretty disappointed.

The remote key is longer and thicker than my old remote and key together on my keychain.

I never did use the ridiculously huge OEM key that came with the car.

SO here is my suggestion.

Save your self a ton of money and just get your huge OEM key duplicated into a nice thin key and stick with that. Unless you just want the remote key because it is cooler looking.

Oh and a few more things.

1) Yes the remote works with my 2006 Outback.

2) Yes the duplicate key works with my car even though it does not have a chip.

3) The new remote is not thinner or shorter. It just has the corners cut off. As far as what I have seen.
