gershon
Yeah it is not very small and from what I have seen the new "smaller" key is still the same length and thickness pretty much.
Buru
What if a new housing was made for the 2008 key You would break out your key, and put the gutz in it then screw it together. I might know a guy that would make them for us?

Meltdown07
4Cyl Turbos and H6 models of the Legacy and Outback are the only ones with the chip to my understanding. Regular 4cyls dont have it. Go Cardinals!

kjiz
I'm pretty sure only the 2005 2.5i's lacked the chip. I don't know about the Outbacks.
gershon
I have a 2.5I OB non turbo non limited non anything. Chipless keys do work for me. Guess I am lucky. No need for the STI key. I do not have an STI. Plus my goal is to have less in my pocket. That is why I made a plain key with out the big plastic fob and why I am not very impressed with the remote key. Check tho photos. Notice that the remote key is longer wider and thicker than a simple flat key and remote combined. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/IMG_0053.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/IMG_0054.jpg
