Gauging Interest - RCE Lowering Camber Plates for Legacy

Recommended Posts

There's been a lot of talk about saggy bottoms lately, and this coupled with the distinct lack of camber plate options for the Legacy has given us an idea for a possible solution.

We've had our RCE Lowering Camber Plates for Impreza available for quite some time now and have noticed an increased interest from the Legacy crowd for them lately.

To those who aren't familiar with them, these are camber adjustable top mounts that lower the front of the car 3/8th of an inch without sacrificing suspension travel. So you lose the Subaru trademark nose in the sky look and could get up to around -3 degrees of negative camber.

Essentially "free" lowering with no suspension travel drawbacks. Minimal increase in noise, vibration, or harshness, as we use a huge high quality spherical bearing.

The V2 plates come with a inset style nut for more thread engagement and their own washer.

So what do you think? These would fit normal strut + springs set-ups like the popular Bilstein + Pink combos and bring the nose down to a respectable height. They would also of course fit coilovers like our RCE T1s and KW V2s.

Legacys are suspension travel challenged to begin with, so these would be a huge help for those that want to bring the nose down, but don't want to diminish their already limited front strut travel.

Please give us any feedback you may have and if you have any questions let us know!

At the end of this auto-x season I am planning on going back to stock. I'm still probably going to keep the car for a while (just stop racing it) and this would be perfect for me. I don't want to put springs on (again), and I know I would hate seeing front wheel gap again. This pretty much solves my problem. I'm pretty sure I would buy a pair this fall if they came out.

I'm interested, pending two things:

1. Not being able to hit my target camber with the stock adjustment bolt and Konis/Swifts.

2. If, for some reason, the Konis/Swifts sit high in the front. However, I chose this setup because it seemingly won't have the ride-height issues, and will allow me to adjust damping.

So will they lower 3/8th of an inch from stock top hats or from the spec B tophats? I've got an 05 and the nose jumped up 1/2 inch with the spec B top hats. Just wondering if I'm going to see more like a 7/8 drop.

we are working on the drop amount now. Non lowering will prob be for IMPREZA and lowering will be for LEGS.

Prototypes are done and we should have them in 1 week.

Camber adjustment will be limited with OEM dampers to the inside of the body of the car. On the Impreza, most can get about -2.5-ish on OEM struts. With coilovers -3.0 PLUS will be easy.

Nothing for the rear yet..but with our development of 08 STi parts, it wont be long.
