While these pics aren't anywhere near as bad as the other ones in this thead, the story is kind of funny. About 5 years ago, the vice-president of the company I was working for liked to park his Saab in parking spaces far away from everyone else. I was backing out of my space at lunchtime one day, and the guy had parked in a corner of the lot that never had any cars there usually, so I didn't bother to look. I backed right into the side of his car, then I had the joy of walking into his office to tell him what happened. Luckily I was planning on quitting in a few months anway. I didn't get fired, but he wasn't very nice to me for the rest of my time there.

Total cost of the damage to my car: $512

My insurance deductible: $500

Coincidence?

Actually, it went like this:

(VP is walking out of his office with a prospective million-dollar investor for our private research company)

Me: Boss, can I talk to you for a minute?

Boss: Sorry, I'm about to go to lunch with Mr. Whats-his-name. Can it wait?

Me: Are you taking your car to lunch?

Boss: Yes, why?

Me: Well, I kind of backed into your car and wrinkled the door.

Investor: *chuckle*

Boss: Aw, don't worry my brother has a body shop. He can probably pop it back into shape and we won't have to notify our insurance companies.

Me: Ummm, I don't know.

Boss: I'm sure it's fine, let's go take a look.

<walk to parking lot>

Boss: Oh. Okay. I don't think he can hammer that out. Maybe you should contact your insurance company. *frown, angry glare*

Investor: *chuckle* *chuckle*

^ ouch!!

Well it looks like I have been included to this wonderful club :nono:

This is what can happen when your area experiences 40 to 50mph winds and a fellow resident doesn't use wheel chalks for his trailer sitting in the parking lot.

2 wheeled utility trailer: +1

Subie :-$2000

Acutally there is more damage on the front, but they are just scratches and a small dent. They didn't show up very good in the photos I took so I didn't post them. But I would still have to agree with you..... plus I have 3 quotes around the same price. I'm in the wrong busness........

:eek:dude, that's nasty. it's awesome to hear you're ok....

i'm pretty upset at me making this thread... i was expecting little scratches and shit like that.... ya know, "my sister backed into my car and look at this dent!"

it just amazes you how much people assume another driver is going to do. they all assume we will stop or move out of the way, and we end up trashing our babies.... I hate how the worst accidents happen with US (the lgt drivers) swerving to avoid a catastrophe, and end up with us having broken cars... :(

Yeah - I don't know if I've shared this on the boards yet - but his insurance (GEICO) ended up giving me a great settlement - I sent them all of my mod receipts and they sent me a check for ~23k.

Added to that I found an '06 Spec B for sale on CarMax's website that was one state away...that CarMax had listed as a regular 2.5GT, and priced accordingly, at 17,999!!!!

So, all things considered (especially that I didn't even get scratched) it wasn't the worst thing after all...

This happend in '05.. about 2 months after buying the car brand spankin' new... It was when I lived back East, hence the snow.

I launched off the road into a massive ditch. The minor bumper damage was from getting pulled out.

Heres what I did to it:

Then.. The body shop guy fixed it then took it out for a spin to see if they got all the crap out of the wheels or some shit, this is what he did to it:
