I'd have to test drive the 911 and the Vette to chose between them, but it would definitely come down to one of those two.

..... I may have to go test drive a couple of cars next weekend..... :D

life in spin cycle.....:spin:

nope

63K

Where the H did you get that price from?

That would make it the cheapest AMG vehicle, under the SLK55 which has less horsepower than the C63 AMG and is much smaller. I think you are way wrong on that price quote.

I know it's out of your stated range, but... I'd love me some DB9, Vanquish S, or even the "regular" Vanquish. ;)

making more money now, and I'm thinking of upgrading from the Speed3 in early 2008. so many good choices to pick from its hard to "thin the herd."

realistically, I should draw the line at a $50K price bogey. but I could probably stretch it up to $60K if I really had to ;) here are some early contenders:

  • 08 BMW 135 (M-edition, 300hp, 0-60 5.1 sec, 3400 lbs) best bang for bucks, est. MSRP $35k
  • 08 BMW M3 (new E92, >400hp, 0-60 4.8 sec., 3650 lbs.) base MSRP $59k (way more with options)
  • 08 Corvette Z51 (new 6.2L LS3, 430hp, 0-60 4.1 sec., 3200 lbs.) MSRP $49k
  • 08 Cadillac CTS-V (few details, supercharged V-8, 500hp) price TBD

comments/suggestions :)

If I didn't own a house, I'd keep the MS3 and buy one. If I did own a house, I'd keep the MS3 and buy an 87-89 911 or possibly a BMW M Roadster.

I will believe that when I see it :) C&D also said the Audi R8 would be 80k :)

As for what car I would buy. Vette. Works at the track, works on the street, and works as a DD. It will also have a million tuners for it (at least I would suppose, seing as how popular they are). Plus, Vettes hold their value like no other.

I do find your situation interesting. A year earlier you sold your LGT for 19k and some change for "financial" reasons, then you bought a 23k speed3, and now a year later, you are looking at a 50k car :) Man! How life changes in a year :)

Go for the Vette Kevin!!!! The Corvette name has a place in the sports car hall of fame. Now more than ever the vette is a world class sports car. It can run with the best of them. It has tons of power, it is light and if you get the mod bug again, you can get upwards of 500 WHP and beyond. It would be a monster on the track. I bet you would love it.

Bang for the buck= Vette with the 6 speed auto.

plus it will cost less, better warranty, better milage, and outperform all the listed cars and most of the other so called dream cars. bosco

Stay Stock Stay Happy
