I tried a beer from the New Belgium Brewing Company called Blue Paddle. Very refreshing, slightly fruity. I'll probably pick some up this afternoon when I get my margarita fixin's for tomorrow.

What is your beverage of choice for the Fourth?

i'm sipping on some Sierra Nevada Pale Ale...very good summer beer. What type of beer is the Blue Paddle?

where has our professional alcoholic (aka RDF) been?!?!

Kenda:dm:

Blue Paddle is a pilsner, made by the same folks that produce Fat Tire. Also picked up some Dead Guy and Rogue Stout (haven't tried this one before).

Sierra Nevada is pretty much our house beer.

BTW, cheers on the new job!

I'm out visiting some friends and had a "Trader Joe's Bavarian style Hefeweizen" last night. I'm really damned impressed! That is a very tasty beer!

Throug extensive research, we have hit on a pretty good recipe for Margaritas.

1.5 parts Sauza Hornitos

1.5 parts Cuervo 1800 Blanco

1 part each of Grand Marnier and Triple Sec

3 parts sweet and sour mix

the juice of 2 limes

Add the ingedients to a large pitcher of ice, stir and enjoy. Mmmm, good.:icon_bigg

My friends already know my disdain for blue cheese, but.... you know that the blue sh!t is MOLD! Why ruin good liquor like Ketel One by putting mold in it?!?

On topic, I just finished a bottle of 2002 Chateau Souverain cabernet sauvignon. A cheap but very drinkable bottle. Had a couple bottles of Heineken Light before that, and I'll be having an once or two of Oban single malt scotch now.... yes... I'm a lush!

Bay Breeze:

2 oz Cranberry Vodka

4 oz Pineapple Juice

2 oz Cranberry Juice

a dash of Sweet N Sour

Shaken/ strained into a highball glass (or Pounder)

I have a new favorite beer, it's Blue Moon. Tastes like Sam Adams Summer Ale, but the spices don't punch you in the mouth like Sam Adams does. It's basically a way mellower version. Perfect for Summertime, garnish with an Orange wheel.
