BBPeik
Mine should be installed shortly. Super easy to remove the old one. Only thing that was tricky was the stupid roll pin. Perrin's instructions are spot on though. My someday I will be done with it thread.
BBPeik
So I just got it installed. It made a huge difference. I have the sti shifter and was at about 4" between gears before. Now it is 3" or maybe a bit less even. I installed the bushing along with this as well so I cannot give a definite answer as far as whether the lighter weight of the new unit makes a difference in shifting smoothness. Someone else should chime in on that after their install. Overall I love it. Shifting is nice and smooth and crazy short. Install was super easy and the supplied instructions were spot on. This mod is well worth doing. Here are some pics. The instructions have better pics though. http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah113/BBPeik/20150504_144723_zps1lpim44y.jpg http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah113/BBPeik/20150504_162155_zpsxhd3jmic.jpg http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah113/BBPeik/20150504_162145_zpsfchzfv55.jpg http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah113/BBPeik/20150504_163510_zpspr6vbd7e.jpg My someday I will be done with it thread. Zee199969
Can't wait for my next oil change so I can install this also. BTW I got another coupon from Perrin(seems to be the same one from before): SPFLWR1 for 10% off My "Build"
GotthatGT
Should I go ahead and do this when I install the shifter bushing and boomba shifter?
BBPeik
The only thing I can't figure out is why they decided to make the factory shift arm look like some weird medieval weapon. My someday I will be done with it thread.
brandon.mol
In case someone tries to jack your ride while doing an oil change... You have a weapon near by.
jackal8788
Should I go ahead and do this when I install the shifter bushing and boomba shifter? You could since you'll be poking around that region anyway. Installing this won't require much more than getting the car high enough to scoot under. VF54 to 20G to VF54 to 18G build thread

islandborn
mine came yesterday... funny, pulled it out of the box and stuck it in my pocket before going into the house. Really didn't feel up to having the "you bought ANOTHER thing for that car?!?!?!?" discussion with the wife. Which generally I come back with "you bought ANOTHER thing for your face!?!?!?"....oh, well, thats how you keep love in the relationship after 20 years together. hahaha

BBPeik
My wife just looked me and shook her head. Then she said "Well I guess its a good thing you don't have a Ferrari. Then we really would have no money". Nice that she is so understanding of enabling. My someday I will be done with it thread.
jackal8788
I think my wife is under the impression that this car came from the factory with all sorts of wrong or inadequate parts which require my constant attention VF54 to 20G to VF54 to 18G build thread
BBPeik
^^^I just hate it when cars have problems from the factory. Sorry honey, I tried the lemon law but for some reason my car just does not qualify. I guess I will just have to fix it myself. My someday I will be done with it thread.
Unsp0kn
Mine doesn't say much about me buying car parts as long as I let her get things she wants too. It's a fairness game in our house and it works out pretty well. Right now she is super happy to have her new truck, so I'm sort of in the clear for a little bit longer...I should make an order with Perrin... jojorios
Luckily, I thought ahead before I purchased the car and mentioned to her that since it's my first manual, I would probably have to replace the clutch around the 40k mark or so. So half of that battle has been taken care of, before it happens.

KCLeo12
My wife had been driving my car for a month while I have been recovering for a torn Achilles and she kept complaining that when she shifted she kept hitting her elbow. So when this came out she told me to buy it.
