How to BLACK OUT the headlight

Recommended Posts

It really is as simple as it sounds. A few pop-its from underneath, a bolt here and there and everything is off and the bumper is dropped. If you have any questions, shoot me a PM.

how many pop-its are underneath the bumper? i took a look down there and notice there were a few holes without any pop-its..is that...normal?

Yeah that is normal, I would have to look underneath for sure. It is quite a few, I would guess probably 6-8 underneath to drop the bumber. Holes without pop-its is normal, don't worry.

Good grief! I just did my first headlight baking this past weekend and just wrapped up tonight with the reassemble bake (yes, all weekend.....paint to match car, grinding and filling bezel, adding a set of 194 lights, etc) ....I hate putting these things together again..ugh.

Putting a factory sunroof in a Jeep with a solid roof was easier and more fun!

Pics to follow....yes, on the lights, not the sunroof install

Your doing it right, keep going. I sprayed it on too thick to begin with and it didnt dry right, it peeled when I removed the tape, be careful to score it with a knife before you remove the tape.

did this mod on friday. super easy mod. im from the vw scene so i am familiar with the process as many do this. the suby lights are very easy to take a part and go back together very easy. surprised how much i had to take off the front to get the lights out. intake is being shipped as we speak. looking forward to that.
