For what it is worth i used Ceran (sp) wrap over the turn signal section thus eliminating the need for tape contacting the chrome. I decided to just paint over the rest of the housing. If i decide i want the chrome ring back on the low beam i can just repaint it chrome or any other color since it doesn't need the reflectiveness.

Looking into blacking out my headlights but am very nervous about whether or not I'll pass inspection when the time comes. Has anyone ever had an issue with this or do you just keep a stock set around to swap in?

as long as you keep the amber reflector piece in you'll be fine, just like i did. the rest you can do whatever you want.

finished last night after about 4 hours of work. Glue was a pain being i used aheatgun instead of the oven cause i dint have one at the shop. Everything went pretty well besides the dam chrome coming off with the masking tape. i ended up just painting the pieces i taped of black, looks actually really good, ya the turn signal is a little dimmer but headlights are pretty much the same maybe a little dimmer. after all was said and done i think it looks pretty sweet, ill try and post some pics later.

just blacked out my lights, and painted the orange and clear reflector part with VHT nite shades to make it match the darkness of the rest of the light. looks awesome, ill post pics soon.

Anybody have pics of the reflectors kept but VHT'ed? Tryed pm'ing Cortez without response.

I painted the whole turn signal backing and removed the amber portion. The headlight I only painted the portion that doesn't reflect any light. It's the portion that is closest to the lens.

I have never had any problems with HID's before.. they are "illegal" around here. Meaning that a cop will 99.9% never pull you over or think twice about your HID's. So many cars are coming standard with them now that they are just used to seeing them I think.
