The pop-its holding the bumper on are evil little bastards. I have a couple left that I wasn't able to push in. Does anyone have any suggestions for removing/putting those bitches in? Also, might have to go through and reheat the top cemented part of the light... theres too much of a gap and it comes through where the light and quarter panels meet

Nice work optyks...are you planning on doing more pieces red?...i think it would look better if you did the badge red and maybe a few other things to tie everything together

Yeah, I'm thinkin about maybe gettin the badge done, and the hood scoop instert as well

why red? Idk about that.

Originally bought it because I wanted to paint my wheels a meadesherry black pearl color, black looking except at angles and in direct sun, but I wasn't able to get around to it and had this stuff left over, so I figured why the hell not. Can always paint over it.

I bought some waterproof silicone caulk, but honestly, I didn't use any. There's so much sticky shit in the creases already that, when youre fixing to put the light together if you get it hot enough, it WILL stick just fine. In fact, it's so sticky that my left light didn't push together all the way so I have a little gap between the light and body frame. All i need to do to fix it is heat it and squeeze again

question for those who have done this: what (if anything) did you use to re-seal the headlights?

wow, this thread is still active! don't just use any silicone, use stretchable silicone. Some Subaru dealership sells them in those large tubes. So, maybe get one, use it, and sell it to someone else that is clearing their lights. I recommend buying a new light and do it just in case you mess up or the light start to leak. It took me several tries to get it right.

Hmm, I havent found any additional sealant to be necessary. Even through rain and everything. I'll see what happens once winter rolls around...

Some more pics, taken a few minutes ago.

on the topic of sealant, i used some all purpose indoor/outdoor silicone, filled the channel with it before pushing them back together, a little bit squeezes out, but you can just wipe it clean with a wet finger for a good seal that will never leak.

I'm a rookie to this and will be trying this soon enough, but before I do I need to know what items or products i would need to purchase before I start to take everything apart. What brand flat black primer paint do i need to purchase? what sealant or silicone do i need to buy? are those the only two things that I would need? and where can i purchase all these items here in the Queens/Brooklyn NYC area? Thanks, any help will be greatly appreciated!

So overall, just clean & paint? How many coats? No need to sand or primer or anything? Also, what colors may ask has everyone been using? Sorry for the questionaires I'ma newbie at painting headlights =p along with baking them for the first time! I appreciate all your help & support.
