GrimmSpeed
^^Maybe retail but not a GB price I wouldn't think. Yep, that's what I'm thinking at this point as well. Since you guys are being so patient, I'm going to do everything I can to get a killer group buy deal going when the time is right. In the mean time, here's a fun little side project we've had in the works for a while and is finally ready for release. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/grimmspeed-radiator-shroud-w-tool-tray-group-buy-223607.html 3 PROBLEMS. 1 SOLUTION. http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5000/8fmm9av/products/335/images/1341/alternator_cover_lgt_1_1200__77711.1396835677.1280.1280.jpg?c=1 How many times have you lost a wrench or socket in your engine bay? Yeah, that's what I thought, too many to count. Finally after all of these years of losing tools, GrimmSpeed has come to the rescue. Introducing our Subaru Radiator Shroud w/ Integrated Tool Tray. Another common issue that we are fixing is that in stock form, because of the way the front of the Subaru is designed, there is incoming air that doesn't actually pass through the radiator because of some large gaps in sealing at the top. Our shroud forces this air back through the radiator which in turn keeps the radiator cooler. Thirdly, we snuck in yet another cool little feature that you won't find on other radiator shrouds; we have incorporated the radiator stays into our shroud. Yep, you can now ditch those OEM stays and transition over to our super clean approach to using the shroud as the radiator stay. Quick Specs Innovative Integrated Tool Tray!Keeps Radiator Running Cooler - Directs air through radiatorBuilt In Radiator Stays - Much cleaner look than competing productsHeavy Duty DuPont™ Powder Coat(repeatedly toss tools in tray and no scratching) Design We designed the GrimmSpeed Radiator Shroud using our in-house FARO Arm along with the latest and greatest Solidworks CAD software. This assures that we can offer you the most precise and best fitting Radiator Shroud on the market. Materials Our Radiator Shroud has been made with beefy local raw materials. The base of the product starts out as aluminum or stainless sheet. We then invested a large amount of capital to create production level tooling and molds to allow the Tool Tray to be formed without having to rivet or weld. This gives it a much cleaner and more finished look. Next we turned to DuPont for their heavy duty Black and Red powdercoating. This gives the Radiator Shroud a very tough finish that will last for years. Stainless Steel shrouds are left uncoated, but have a beautiful brushed finish. Fitments Subaru Legacy 05-09 Subaru Outback 05-09 http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5000/8fmm9av/products/335/images/1342/alternator_cover_lgt_2_1200__41998.1396835680.1280.1280.jpg?c=1 http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5000/8fmm9av/products/335/images/1337/radiator_shroud_subaru_08_6_1000__06108.1396834278.1280.1280.jpg?c=1 http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5000/8fmm9av/products/335/images/1343/alternator_cover_lgt_5_1200__05855.1396835685.1280.1280.jpg?c=1 http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5000/8fmm9av/products/335/images/1347/alternator_cover_lgt_7_1200__73032.1396835697.1280.1280.jpg?c=
dga
That is pretty cool, but I prefer to leave my wrenches on shock towers where some 3,000 miles later I'll rediscover them again.
Flinkly
I've gotta add my two cents here... One day I got to work and parked, and as I was getting out, I saw something shiny at the base of my windshield. I leaned over and found my 15mm wrench sitting with my windshield wipers. It'd been days since I'd worked on it and glad I hadn't done any hard cornering. I'm equally fearful of leaving some wrenches sitting on the engine and either putting a ding in my hood when I close it, or it being loose in there while I'm driving. too bad that won't cure my forgetfulness... I think I need one of those medical trays so I can be sure I pull out all the tools from my patient before I sew her up. GrimmSpeed
Thanks for the insight and feedback fellas! The magnets are definitely something that we've experimented with and found great success. The reason that they're not included is that they aren't really necessary for the tool tray to do it's job and added a good deal of cost and complexity to the part. We'd encourage you to find a couple of properly sized rare earth magnets and go for it, though. Works great! The tool tray was actually a result of most of us in the shop doing the same thing. Tools in the rain tray, fender rails, intercooler, etc. Not only a great way to lose tools, but a great way to do some serious damage. Matt Beenen Engineering
baconbits
I've bent a couple intercooler fins after leaving a screwdriver up there... Wiper tray and the vents below the tray (like where the hood hinges are) become my hardware/tool holders. After remodeling my house a bit, my back pockets are increasingly becoming tool holders and the wiper tray is just for hardware.

Yfarmeaahka
I will be 100% in on this TMIC group buy if it fits both lgt and sti style turbos! I am currently waiting to see what happens in this thread before I purchase my new turbo. Does that radiator shroud happen to fit with a mishimoto radiator? Love the tool tray idea. Subimon
I'd expect about $900-1000 for everything. This gives me so hope! I was about to drop the load on a PW, but I wanted something with possibly better fitment and mayeebee even a GS in the center of it  I seriously cannot wait another month without some definite waiting list or product in my hands!
