  1. mmm Zapco I love seeing people leveraging the OG big Class A/B amps! I did a similar project in my 3rd Gen 4runner. I installed my McIntosh 6 channel amp purchased in '98 that was stored for many years and paired it with some older Focal separates and MB Quart drivers, along with my old school JL Audio 10w6V1 DVC subs x3 (these were unique dual 6ohm voice coils) in a single enclosure tuned port box that was one of JL's infamous "Box that Rocks" plans from the late 90s. These days most of the new stuff is all class D, but the power AND quality of sound we got from these mega amps was special! At age 44 you'd think the basshead in me died - it was just dormant, but still lives strong within Can't wait to see the finished project Mike
  2. The T4R is the Sport Edition so it has the color matched flares/bumpers/running boards as part of the package. The TRD Pro wheels were a must but didn't want to lose their styling in black. The spec.B definitely is fresher than before with newly painted JDM front and rear bumpers, side skirts, front overlip, sport grill and the BBS RE875 is the perfect LGT wheel to me - I mean they did come on the S402 model The horns are Hella SuperTones, with the baskets powdercoated silver. Pretty sure I got those through Subimods.
  3. Thanks! Agree on the T4R - mine just rolled over 200K but running strong and deals with the snow buildup we get here quite well. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/9137EB4D-58C8-4D56-A8FA-527ECD3A0030.jpg Need to get some proper pics of the spec.B - but here's a couple quick shots post refresh: http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/510A007A-5AE0-42E7-B44D-D8037D4CF1C0.jpg http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/IMG_E2633.jpg
  4. Glad to see you're still around Ben, and the build looks great so far! Just finished my refresh - need to give it a wash and hand wax so I can get some pics with the JDM body parts all installed.
  5. Been MIA from LGT.com for some time, but still have my spec.B. I've had all my JDM parts in the garage for a couple years after some help from valleylegacy, but got sidetracked with a 3rd gen 4runner sport edition, and projects associated with it. Just got back from paint and been assembling what I can while I work on detailing the car. I had my JDM Rev. A-C GT front bumper (fog shrouds/tow hitch cover too), JDM Sport kit front lip cover, JDM grill surround, JDM sport kit side skirts with builtin strakes, JDM rear bumper, and JDM aero spats for rear all painted. Also have a new set of 05 US headlight assemblies, K2 Gear CF front and rear Subaru emblems and a new windshield to complete the refresh. Should have it all back together after the long weekend, and more pics of it completed to follow, but here's a sneak peak: http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/RevACGTJDMNose_1.jpg
  6. Spill it man... via text if you must be so sly around here
  7. Easy there... I explained the reason I was interested, and assume that most interested might actually be using a different 3rd brake light on a wing/lip and not want the one in the window any longer. I will be unplugging mine once the new lip is installed with a different LED 3rd brake indicator, but if I could delete it all together it would be cleaner.
  8. I'd be interested in the 3rd brake light delete for the parcel tray as well, since I'm going with the JDM rear lip that has an integrated 3rd LED brake light.
  9. You won't need the fender liners for the standard JDM GT style bumper. They are needed for the spec.B front because of the flared corners. I have the GT style bumper on my car and the USDM liners work fine.
  10. Congratulations on the new sponsor Gator!!! It's really, really difficult for me to hold my composure and bite my tongue about their claimed "performance expertise"... but OEM parts, tires and overall support will be a big boost to the program which is huge! Happy you are getting sponsors, and overall this will be super positive! Those monkeys will never touch my car again, they broke more than they fixed twice on warranty work, and that was it for me.
  11. Yes, mine is delaminating in a couple spots - looks like little squiggly clear lines just beneath the surface. Car is garage kept, so I doubt it's from excessive exposure to the elements.
  12. The JDM honeycomb this is designed after doesn't fit Rev A-C JDM GT bumpers. It will fit direct on Rev D+ (JDM/EDM 07-08) with the spec.B JDM bumper, or with mods to the earlier year cars with the spec.B bumper. If you have the GT bumper (I have the same one) the opening is smaller so the JDM honeycomb is too tall for the opening (I tried to figure out a way and it just wouldn't work). I went with the JDM sport mesh grill for an aggressive option that fits with that JDM GT bumper.
  13. Nice post Is english your first language? I doubt they become "collector's cars" - but I still find it laughable when someone claims that a color combo defines "rarity" when it's just a LGT... talk about reaching! They are all the same just different paint/interior choices. The early non limited LGTs with cloth and no sunroof are much more unique LGTs, and that option package wasn't offered throughout the years of the 4th gen LGT so perhaps that's "rare". Any spec.B has quite expensive suspension upgrades for performance, NAV with a manual trans, steering wheel audio controls, interiors not offered in LGTs, 18" wheel packages, and were actually released as a limited edition at a premium price. The additional or perceived value isn't due to rarity. It is a performance model above the standard vehicle like a Mazdaspeed 6, a M class BMW, MR Evos, Saleen/Roush Mustangs etc.
  14. That's how I got my fancy GS hat and bottle opener key chain - from the DP GB since I waited for the last batch.
  15. If you mean the clear plastic plate cover, I will pass on that option. Appreciate your work on this solution Rick!
  16. I'm not too worried about PW values. AVO and Peririn units hold a pretty consistent value on the used market. Less people than you would think find it worthwhile to drop $800+ on a new TMIC. If someone can get a great TMIC like the PW for 600-750 (depending on condition and completeness) for a discontinued LGT specific fitment, it will hold a nice niche between the mentioned pieces and the new GS offering.
  17. Knowing the GS product development cycle and attention to the finer details - you may likely be waiting more than a month. Good things come to those who wait
  18. This. Plus, no "flare" will add clearance without cutting fenders - think about it.
  19. Mine's got that molded in lip as well just above the holes - so this should make it nice and flush, and I know that it should lift the plate closer to that little lip than what I currently have. That might just make it acceptable to keep the front plate (which is required here ), without using a tow hook mount. You executed what I was attempting to brainstorm a solution for
  20. Thanks Rick - I'm definitely interested in one. The holes are the same between the JDM GT and JDM spec.B bumpers, confirmed with your close up picture. That's one of the few things they actually share!
  21. That's very close to what I was envisioning when I realized what is needed to make the conversion - but couldn't find anything close enough in the retail market. I'm still on the fence. I really like how the JDM 2.0GT bumper looks without the plate blocking off the lower opening now that I have no plate. I pulled it off with the other bracket (similar to what Hanger posted), because it stuck out too far. If it's not a lot of effort to see what one would cost, I'd like to know. If it was relatively inexpensive, I may just get one to see how it looks in person with plate mounted before I commission a body shop to shave the holes completely.
  22. Rick, I'd be interested in seeing a picture of this bracket solution you had made. Been looking for a potential solution to make it more flush. That or I may just have the bumper holes shaved by a body shop before repaint. I've got something similar to what Hanger posted now, but it protrudes from the bumper more than I'd like.
