  1. Yeah my thought was lack of LOAD on the highway which can typically quiet the exhaust sounds that relate to "rumbling"...kinda like an aftermarket exhaust will drone up a hill but not down.
  2. It's actually not much loss in sidewall because the aspect ratio is a percentage....smaller percentage of a larger treadwidth is only 0.66% less then stock. Yes I do believe I lost an mpg or so but that doesn't matter to me at all. Also I've been running a couple pounds low I found....so that might play into it also. We'll see after 1000 miles or so.
  3. I have 245/45/18s. Tried to keep circumference as close to stock as possible while picking up more contact patch for the track and spirited driving. I realize that will hurt me a bit in the snow ...but then again I can just take her car
  4. Funny we have avid ascends on my girl's 3.6R (lightly modded), and I have 245 DWS06+ s on my heavily modded 3.6R. love them both for perfectly fitting each of our driving styles. I concur the DWS06+s are the best tires I've ever had so far, but I've driven neither through the winter yet. I look forward to seeing how they do in the snow but I never had 1 issue with the stock tires in NY winters, so these can only be better?
  5. Yeah, I have the SSD strut bar on both my 3.6Rs (we have an 18 that is almost stock and a 19 that is not at all stock). Very good upgrade, highly recommend it. Steering is sharper and more predictable. I do recommend upgrading the RSB at the same time due to balance concerns tho. It's a small thing but if you're at all into handling I find it important.
  6. Sorry I just realized you might be looking for more than just the overlays...I didn't find the actual badge on SubaruOnlineParts.com, so you might need to order one from the body shop or a dealer.....assuming it doesn't come WITH your new trunk.
  7. It will be fine... Your speedometer will be slow tho so go a little slower to compensate. Go to willtheyfit.com to see by exactly how much.

  9. It requires 2 apps in my case. The app I screenshotted was ActiveOBD. That's how it's labelled but might be under Subaru active obd in the play store. Then you need an OBD2 scanner and app. In my case I'm using OBDlink. I forget if it's MX or LX but either way, you first connect to the OBDlink app to set up the OBD connector, then open ActiveOBD to do the monitoring. You can monitor a bunch of stuff with OBDlink, but NOT CVT temp, which is why you need Active OBD. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  10. In the US? Are you sure they are not driving a WRX they slapped an STI badge on? Don't be fooled by the upgraded CVT shift knob that says STI in the WRX. Our 2020 CVT WRX came with an STI knob. It was definitely not an STI.
  11. The STI doesn't come with a cvt. Also the issue is which CVT you have in this case. The 2.5i comes with the TR580 which is rated lower than the TR690 in the WRX and 3.6R. I know the TR690 will hold 300 hp no problem, but beyond that I have no experience. As for the TR580....I wouldn't try it ... Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  12. FWIW I think the rears wear out a little more lately because of the "torque vectoring" (misnomer) action they are trying to achieve in tight corners by dragging the inside rear wheel. I don't know if the more aggressively you drive the more you'll see this, but when I replaced mine the backs were also significantly lower than the fronts. However I only replaced mine because of a track day, not because it was required. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  13. If you want to fix that get a tune. XRT has also been tweaking AVCS lately to pick up low end torque. Your observations are to be expected with that MOD and no tune.
  14. Also the infernos are 304 SS, and are put together with vbands. Ideal for lowered cars in the salt belt. Raptors are light steel and come with flanges.
  15. Switched from the leftover tires I had off my Optima that I finally burned up which were 225/45-18's to some meaty 245/45-18 conti extreme contact DWS06 Plus tires on my 8.5 inch +45 Enkei TFRs. Fitment is perfect. I'm lowered on BC BRs by about 1.5" and theres no rubbing at all. Glad to have more sidewall back!! It also increased the ride height a bit which I needed because frankly I was too low... Only downside is the extra weight requires more braking effort and hampers acceleration a bit. So far I'm very happy with the extra grip though!
  16. I painted the chrome on my grille. Came out awful, rubbed off...gave up and had a paint shop do it. Still holding strong a year later. For the window trim I spent 10 hours with vinyl and knifeless tape blacking it out. Looks great...one section came loose and I redid it, but after a year it's held up to NY winters and touchless car washes.
  17. Yeah I'm going wider too so I'm excited to see how much extra grip I get. Track day yesterday was successful. It was very warm...I was monitoring cvt temps and skipping sessions to try to keep it cool. The pic is from the end of the last run....about 80 degrees over normal operating range. I'll have to add a CVT cooler for next year. Only cut power on me once, but it's also my daily so....drain and fill and a cooler next year!
  18. Yeah I had to add some around 30k...maybe 8-16oz...not much.
  19. Sweet me too! Putting them on next week after my track day this Friday....which should obliterate any tread I have left on my Yoko's.
  20. Very good, high quality, quite a bit of sound, but then again I got high flow cats and had aftermarket mufflers...if you can call them that. The 5th gen ones will be more dialed in, but my measurements were a bit off so mine hang down a bit but you won't have that problem. You'll probably want a tune after so make sure you line that up too.
  21. http://xtremeracingtuning.com My CVT Legacy is tuned by the above. It's totally worth it, but don't expect to do it on the cheap. I would say either commit to modding and tune it right or remove the intake. I couldn't tell from your post if it's a 2.5 or 3.6, but I'm not as savvy on the 5th gen....i think they only paired the cvt with the 2.5 so it's a different cvt than I have (3.6R) but Ed can tune it.
  22. Yeah, that's different by a LOT. But I find it odd given that the engine is rated 256 at the crank that you are experiencing very little drivetrain loss...yet your numbers are close on two different types of dynos.
