  1. Makes total sense! It's really only bad on bumps that span the entire lane (rather than a single wheel), and are of significant magnitude.
  2. So quick update here...Whiteline says I do in fact have the right springs and that when they settle they'll level. To a very small degree it has leveled. It has definitely settled from a harshness and control perspective so I'm pretty happy about that. I've driven almost 600 miles including backroads, smooth highway and choppy roads both highway and not. If it never levels I still may keep them, but I would probably give them 3.5 stars....it corners much better and it's not obnoxiously low, but I've sacrificed some ride quality. If you love the way your car rides, don't buy these. If you can stand a little bounciness because you like tearing up backroads at pace...i recommend them.
  3. So your comment got me thinking....another thing I noticed was cars in my rearview were ducking under my deck sooner than expected....it turns out, upon closer inspection the car is now raked. The fronts are lower than the rears. They sent me the wrong fronts mixed with the correct rears. My hunch is that this is also contributing to my slight ride quality issues. I have a ticket open with whiteline and will send an update once I get the right springs.
  4. How does the car know it's 40 to 60mm lower than stock? What reference point do you think it uses to "auto level?" What I experienced was decreased visibility distance. I'm glad you didn't. Maybe mine don't auto level.....
  5. Yes 18s. The whitelines are only a 20mm (0.7") drop vs the 1.3" ish of others like H&R. So yes these aren't as low, but driving in the northeast, year round at my daily that's exactly what I wanted. Funny, you don't think about it but even a 20mm drop is going to necessitate me raising my headlights a touch....not seeing very far at night now.
  6. Installed the whiteline lowering springs yesterday. I will be heading to the shop today to have it aligned (though it doesn't currently pull or anything, I know you're supposed to). They fit, it's lower, it corners flatter, there's far less brake dive, adds about 10mph to a fast sweeper, but the trade-off is it's a little bouncy over bumps so far. There's more head toss than before as if the shock sometimes struggles to control the rebound. Whitleline said they would settle a bit over 1000 miles or so. I believe them and can see why. As we were doing the install it was looking like the shock wouldn't compress far enough to hold them in place, but once you let it down it does. I believe the settling is related to them rotating into final position around the shock on the mounts. I'll post again after a couple weeks of driving if anything changes. Overall I'm happy, but there's definitely more of a trade-off with these than there was with the strut and sway bar upgrades. Sorry my photos aren't great, it was dark by the time we were done. Day is before, garage is after.
  7. Ammcinnis we seem to differ in style quite a bit. You've been fairly curt and contrary to my posts before and I respect that you have a different viewpoint from me. I did look in the manual and asked the dealership. They said it can't be done and I missed it in the manual, so I'm sorry to clutter up your inbox with my useless posts. I did google it now that I know it's possible and will consult the manual again as well. Thanks for looking it up for me. Whether or not it's a bad idea to turn off the safety features is an entirely subjective one. Those of us who drive often, for a living, and remember when safety features consisted of seat belts and eyeballs will remember when it was possible to avoid collisions without the help of sensors and warnings. I do often speed up to pass before changing lanes, I often don't brake when I know someone is turning, and I dont need my vehicles help choosing how fast to go or how far away to be. I know how well the brakes work and my eyes are always on the road. I have track driven and autocrossed and I haven't been at fault for an accident since junior prom when my eyes WEREN'T on the road. If you like safety features, more power to you. I prefer to turn them off. Let the public decide what's right for them.
  8. Yes the driveway in question ends at a severe angle to the road, and with RAB off it neither alerts nor brakes. Also with RAB engaged if you go ridiculously slow you are OK....but you'll piss off traffic.
  9. I don't have a fix for you but for what it's worth I turn off forward collision warning everytime I start the car. It stops the beeping but it may not stop the braking. Mine functions normally and it's never auto braked on me with the warning off. As for backwards, when I back out of a steep driveway it detects the road as an obstacle and that really pisses me off because it slams on while my head is turned, so I turn the RAB off when I'm doing that as well. Many people like these features, I do not. Wish I could have regular cruise control back too...
  10. Awesome, yeah I have those springs sitting in the box ready to go, just need to find the time to put them in!
  11. We'll I have the SSD one and I love it. I looked up the nameless one and the design is interesting...looks like two individual tubes welded together. I'm not an engineer or anything, and I really like nameless exhausts' build quality, so you probably can't go wrong but the SSD design seems better because it's a single piece and it's wider across the middle. Let us know which you choose and how you like it. Also, if you do the strut bar seriously consider the RSB as well.... I did them at separate times and it messed with the balance slightly...in my opinion. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  12. I recently emailed whiteline to ask and they confirmed they would fit, so I bought them for my 2019. I'll post up when they are installed with feedback. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  13. raptorsc@westnet.com.au is the address I used. Sent them a message today, they replied within a few hours. Said "we expect to soon be stocked up" on headers. (I was looking specifically for 2019 3.6R). Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  14. Have you been in both? We have and the 3.6Rs come in the top of the line trim, limited. The premium and sport trims are not nearly as nice as the cabin in the limited. If he meant how the body panels fit together then clearly you're right, it's all the same. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  15. I bought a 2019 3.6R back in December. It was more expensive then and I paid retail for a ridiculous trade on my existing car so it likely washed out to around 3k off...either way the important part is I love it and I'm glad I bought it. It has 16500 mi on it now and it's been flawless. My GF had a WRX, had some issues and the dealership lent her a 2.5 model. It was gutless and the fit and finish were incredibly cheap. By comparison the 3.6R is much better in both power and finish. The one area I personally didn't like was the handling, but I'm an aggressive driver. So for about 250 bucks total I upgraded the rear sway bar and added a strut bar. For me it was just what I needed.... You might be fine stock. I hear the 4th generation was a little tighter than the 6th generation, so that might be relevant to you. Hope that helps! Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  16. You're right the language was extreme, my apologies...but the tire pressure issue made the car very twitchy....and as I do drive very aggressively and came from a wrx and optima sxt, both with tighter suspension, it took me by surprise how different it was and how much it seemed to wander around. The main point you should take from my post is that those upgrades were awesome and they weren't expensive. Anyone who does spirited driving should consider them. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  17. I felt the same way at first, these things felt downright dangerous on the highway. My first problem is the dealer had the tires inflated to 45 psi when I bought it. Once I got to the recommended 33 and 32 it was much better, but it didn't get decent until I did the SSD strut bar and a conservative 19mm rear sway bar. You could go stiffer I'm sure....but its a completely different car now. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  18. Also is anyone running these that can comment on how much firmer the ride is? Anyone know the stock spring rates? Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
  19. I have the axleback so far and plan to get the headers, so I can't comment yet on them as a package, but I can answer questions about the nameless. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
