  2. That's why I used the word "close", I wasn't looking for an exact price. I know close means different things to different people...
  3. For the animals, I use Tom Cat mouse blocks. They work great for keeping mouse's in check. I have the blocks all around the house, sheds, garage, basement, by the down spouts from gutters, and in the old F150
  4. Great to hear, did you get near your asking price ?
  5. My thought is, it's ok to drive it hard, just make sure you give it time to cool off, before shutting off the engine. I always made a point to try and coast as far is I could before shutting it off. Think of coasting on the off ramp after you've been driving on the highway. Your mostly like going to have to stop at the end anyway. Even before getting home, just drive easy as you near home, coast if you can.
  6. FWIW, we did a street tune on my wagon with 500 on the ej257. Your safe for WOT. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and money...
  7. Sorry to say, seems like most newer members only post in the "what did you do..." thread now. If you want help, maybe post a thread in the 4th Gen forum referencing this thread.
  8. Have you asked google about your issue ? My 18' Outback 3.6R just stopped playing the radio volume. I googled the issue, and found a youtube video on how to reset the system. Funny thing, when I went back out to try it, after unlocking the doors and starting the engine, the radio played fine. Stupid Subaru. On google, I type in Subaru radio, and the "no volume" link popped up, so I guess it's not the first time...
  9. New, the 250 HP number was at the crankshaft, then you have to add in loss for the driveline. So you are not far off from what the car made when new.
  10. I believe your going to want to keep it stock. I would not put a small filter there. Member, "m sprank" would know for sure. send him a PM.
  11. The reason I left the filters in my 09' is in my mind, with the filters in the fitting being vertical, when the oil drains out of it, itself cleans... Learn what your turbo sounds like, if it gets louder, begins to squeal or whistle...pull it. A slight whine is normal. I have the intake silencer removed from under that box the air filter sits in.
  12. With only the one code...you should be ok. Keep a listen for turbo. After those codes, mine did whine a bit louder, then that one morning it whistled. My compressor blade, just began to kiss the housing. Lucky for me, no real damage or metal on the oil system.
  13. Just watched that video, I think I would send that turbo out for a rebuild. Notice the tips of the blades and the amount of play in the shaft. You should also replace the oil return hose under the turbo while it's out. I also bolt the turbo to the up-pipe, makes it easier to line up the return hose and inlet hose at the same time. Bolts are the same one Subaru uses to bolt the up pipe support bracket to the block, the dealership will have them. Here's pictures from my 05.
  14. Yes 08-09's have the OCV up top. I think 07 does also. I got another 1000 miles after my 05 had those codes. One morning, just after leaving the house, the turbo began to whistle. I drove the 1/4 mile back home and ordered a new vf52. You'll need a tune for anything other than a stock turbo. The banjo filter didn't look that bad, in the video. I did remove both mine on the 05' many years ago. My 09 Spec B style has both filters installed, it has 103,500 miles.
  15. For you guys talking about the wiring, maybe you should put that info in this Forum thread, that way it can be found by others. Having that info here will too much trouble to find in the future. https://www.legacygt.com/forum/17-interioraudio/ Maybe one of the MOD's can make it a sticky...
  16. Most auto part stores will carry radiator caps. I got one from NAPA a few years back. Seems there are only a few types of caps, so you really don't need to have a Subaru one.
  17. Great to hear they are taking care of a good customer. My guy's take care of me too. They were very helpful when I told the sales person that they knew me well, when we were buying the 16' Outback.
  18. Did you replace both radiator caps ? I did a few years back and that stopped the wagon from pushing coolant into the bottle. Well, it allowed the system to suck coolant back into the radiator. I had to get a cap from Mishimoto for the big radiator and a cap from NAPA for the turbo tank. The wagon has ARP head studs.
  19. That last wheel speed sensor I installed came from NAPA I believe it was the left rear. I googled the OEM part number for the sensor, and the search showed NAPA had them. For the head unit, https://www.legacygt.com/forum/17-interioraudio/
  20. That should help. That was posted years ago by a great member, I believe he was the guy who put a Buick V6 in his Legacy.
  21. I just removed the Brembo front brake pads, which were impossible to get rid of the brake shimmy, in the Spec B. I installed some old Ceramic pads I removed from either the wagon or the Spec years ago. Did a short test drive and brake bedding process, much better. I installed this front set of Brembo's back on Nov 25 2022 at 101,600 miles, today the car has 103,580 miles. At that time, Nov 2022, I did install rotors that had been resurfaced. I did install both front calipers, (free from NAPA) back on Aug 26 2020 at 93,333 mile, those were replacements from both front calipers (and rear calipers) I installed, May 20 2017 at 78,245 miles. Also, I had to replace both rear caliper brackets on Aug 20 2020 at 93,300 miles because they had 3 frozen pins. (free from NAPA). It continues, I replaced the right rear caliper Oct 2 2020 at 96,620 miles and flushed brake fluid. Also flushed brake fluid Oct 20 2022 at 101,125 miles. Getting tired of working on the brakes, but they do come apart easy... LOL Today's pad change took 35 minutes. That includes waiting for the air compressor to charge up while jacking up the front end.
  22. https://www.google.com/search?q=2005-2009+Subaru+brake+recall&rlz=1C1OKWM_enUS906US906&oq=2005-2009+Subaru+brake+recall&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i299.89208466j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I asked google to find the recall.
  23. Grab the carrier bearing joint on the driveshaft, and see if it has movement.
