Light Weight Flywheels Explained
Max Capacity replied to m sprank's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Are you sure, do you have a picture of that ? I'm pretty sure the 07-09 OEM FW I bought was in fact a SMFW like any other. I sold it to a member here back about late 2020 after using it for 5 years. Sorry, I can't find any picture of it. But I think member jaylaw bought it. -
Light Weight Flywheels Explained

Those "flexible" ones were the Dual Mass FW that came in a 05-06 Legacy GT with the 5mt. They also used the Torx T-50+ bolts. Here's a picture of the first Spec LWFW that was installed in my 05 GT wagon back about June 2007 I think it was. Photo is from April 2012 some 65,000 miles later. -

Well, if you put a cot in there, you could sleep in it too LOL -
Have you reset the ECU since installing the changes to the fuel regulator system ? I did the simple "T" fitting from the blow off valve hose and capped the port on #4 intake runner on both my cars, then reset the ECU. Pull the negative battery cable for 15 minutes. Put cable back on, turn Key to "On" for 10 seconds Then start the engine, drive the car like you normally would until it's fully warmed up. After doing that, both cars did not have the stumble.

Are you talking about "thedriveshaftstore.com" or the driveshaft shop ? Two different places. My 05 GT wagon had a propshaft from thedriveshaftstore. The yellow Civic in my avator, had axles from the driveshaft shop. -
You may also want to check Cobb's website/blog.

I see the P2008 deals with the itake runner/system. I think you need to make sure you installed the air box correctly. It's easy to not get the pieces to fit together properly.

Clutch release bearing help
Max Capacity replied to blackobxt's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Just call Spec Clutch, and get their Spec 2+ clutch kit, for a 08' which came with a SMFW. My 05' had their last test LWFW and Spec2+ kit. Call them and talk with them, great customer service. When I put the ej257 in, I had one of their Spec 2 clutches, and a 08 SMFW. You can see pictures on the click here link in my sig. 50,000 miles later, I put the LWFW back in and a 2+. Check your fork for cracks. -

The doors I built were from the T111 siding, which I installed on that side of the old barn. I made in 2x4 frame and attached the T111 to that. Those were fine some 20 years later. You can always make a 2x3 frame to attach to the inside if needed. Your going to really enjoy having it closed in. -

Those should work. I remember making something like those doors for the changes I made to an old barn...back in the early 1990's. The ones I made looked more like these. But this is a bought shed. -
Agree, good for you.

That's why I used the word "close", I wasn't looking for an exact price. I know close means different things to different people...

For the animals, I use Tom Cat mouse blocks. They work great for keeping mouse's in check. I have the blocks all around the house, sheds, garage, basement, by the down spouts from gutters, and in the old F150 -
Great to hear, did you get near your asking price ?

SilentJ20s spec.B gets a new short block!
Max Capacity replied to SilentJ20's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
My thought is, it's ok to drive it hard, just make sure you give it time to cool off, before shutting off the engine. I always made a point to try and coast as far is I could before shutting it off. Think of coasting on the off ramp after you've been driving on the highway. Your mostly like going to have to stop at the end anyway. Even before getting home, just drive easy as you near home, coast if you can. -

FWIW, we did a street tune on my wagon with 500 on the ej257. Your safe for WOT. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and money... -
Sorry to say, seems like most newer members only post in the "what did you do..." thread now. If you want help, maybe post a thread in the 4th Gen forum referencing this thread.
