  1. Here's what I put in my 18' Outback 3.6R. You can also measure the space you have for a battery, then go to the store display of batteries, find the highest CCA battery that will fit in your space with posts in the correct spot. Buy that one. I'm sure I've posted this link before, but here it is again. https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/gen5-replacing-the-original-battery-with-better.391217/page-112#post-6430377
  2. Most auto parts stores will have connectors you can splice in. NAPA is my choice. If mice are a problem. go get some Tom Cat mode blocks, from any hardware store, I have them all around my property, sheds, basement, garage. inside my 86' F150 which sits outside. https://www.google.com/search?q=tom+cat+poison&rlz=1C1OKWM_enUS906US906&oq=Tom+Cat&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCggBEAAYsQMYgAQyCggAEAAYsQMYgAQyCggBEAAYsQMYgAQyBwgCEAAYgAQyBwgDEC4YgAQyBwgEEAAYgAQyBwgFEAAYgAQyCQgGEAAYChiABDIHCAcQABiABDIHCAgQABiABDIHCAkQABiABNIBCTY1ODhqMGoxNagCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  3. Here's the inside. Be careful with the push buttons, when you open the display, the rubbers tend to fall out. My old eye's are not good at seeing what's wrong here ?
  4. Yes it was from the junkyard. I do have the old one that came out of the wagon. So you're talking about those appox. 1/2" long in that are in that stand-off part of the display. I gather you removed that silver tape and popped the display open ?
  5. Are you saying you re-flowed the solder on the plug in connector ? Because I have replaced the display and had the same issue. I did nothing to the connector.
  6. Thanks for noticing, I have been in contact with them, giving them info on the car. I even got an email from someone that works at the Subaru factory where the car was built, back on June 6 2008.
  7. Wow, that's a new one. First, I'd check the battery terminals and harness to the ALT. You might want to PM cardoc over on outback.org. You can get him from post #6 here, https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/evap-line-fuel-tank-repair.563007/#post-6428842
  8. KZ, hears the cap on my 09 Spec B. Now on my 05 GT I had aftermarket caps, they came from NAPA, worked great. Seems there are only a few different caps pressures and they all fit most radiators. I also tended to replace the caps when the rubber seals got cracked, I never waited until I had issues. Cheap insurance. Now we know 2.5i have HG issues... I'm also thinking "Flaris" should start his own thread, so it's easier to find and help him.
  9. Same type story with my Eley hose nozzle. My son bought me one with a few QD's years ago. The nozzle would not full shut off the water from dripping, last year. I called them, gave them my son's info. They sent me a new one, free. https://www.eleyhosereels.com/
  10. Ok, I forgive you then. LOL. Hey, while on to products we like, I have a few of these products. They work great. https://locknlube.com/collections/holiday-gift-guide?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=campaign&utm_campaign=Holiday Hours 12%2F21&_kx=TxmQcmkPeqBcRTE33ktNNTbZi4gcmZzL8XJrA672FVg%3D.PgwiVU
  11. Oh dear, I bought all of mine direct from Fumoto, support the company, not someone who wants to build another rocket for rich people.
  12. Thanks, yes, if anyone has to replace the oil pan I'm sure there's a thread about it on here. For the newer guy's this was on my 2005 GT wagon.
  13. Odd, I had no problem when putting the Fumoto valve on my GT wagon years ago. The car normally has the under engine cover installed. Seems the only installed picture in the car is from when the oil pan was leaking. FWIW, you can see a small hole about 2" up on the front corner of the pan. I also use gallon milk jugs with screw on tops as the catch container. I take the used oil to my local junkyard, where for free they take it, as they use it in their heating system.
  14. You should be able to get your finger under the passenger side of the PS pump under that line on the side of the PS pump, and see if the U shaped seal is leaking...mine was once.
  15. Or, does the noise stop when you push in the clutch pedal ?
  16. I seem to recall the seal between the turbo and timc is the same as the T'stat gasket for a small block chevy. You can get one from any auto parts store. https://www.google.com/search?q=small+block+chevy+T+stat+gasket&rlz=1C1OKWM_enUS906US906&oq=small+block+chevy+T+stat+gasket&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigATIHCAMQIRigAdIBCjEyMjkyajBqMTWoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  17. Reading that brought back a old memory, Back in the late Fall of 2005, I still had my summer only's on. We had a small early snow storm. I slowly rolled my car down the driveway on the street. Put it in 1st gear, began to let the clutch out slowly, The GT wagon move sideways down the crown on the road. I limped it to the neighbors, about 80ft, turned around and limped back, home, but couldn't make it all the way up the slight incline of my driveway. Luckily, I had a Chevy Suburban... I took that instead.
  18. Your welcome, make sure your in the correct section for GT engines.
  19. You can find the 05 service manual here, https://people.csail.mit.edu/ilh/vacation/
  20. These cars are finicky if you don't use the right brand of parts. OEM or NGK coils, NGK spark plugs. gapped at .028" Is your tranny a 5mt or 5eat ? You'll want to verify it's not a Gates timing belt kit, they are junk. Aisin, is the only one you want. You'll want to verify the small black o-rings seal between the plastic intake manifold and TVG's have been changed to the newer (2007) larger orange o-rings. zoom in to the second photo, above #2 injector, see the orange tab. Use MAF cleaner to spray up inside the MAF sensor on the air intake tube just after the air filter. Make sure both engine ground wires are in good shape, they area a known issue. You can make your own. third photo.
  21. Yes, normal routine maintenance and cleaning, think MAF sensor, zip-tie all vacuum hoses. Kept both my 4th Gen's running well. That and not only doing short drives. Seems us that drive for distance had many fewer issues.
