  1. Here's some pic's. Everything is functional but it could use a cleaning.
  2. I installed the Perrin Lock-down damper, Cusco power steering brace & lower arm bar all at the same time. My shimmy happened in the 75-80 range before I installed these and it still occurs there with no changes to shimmy intensity.
  3. I've got one from a '08 Spec B I'm parting out. PM if your interested and I can send you pics of the condition later tonight.
  4. Right on, that's what I've been eyeing as well and specifically for that second function program feature. Looking at your steering wheel I'm guessing you used the firmware for the 08-09 Legacy updated steering wheel rather than the 05-07 firmware?
  5. Did you use the idatalink maestro sw for the steering wheel controls?
  6. Well I may have scheduled the TSX for a remote reflash from a very highly regarded K24 tuner. But that doesn't involve additional parts sitting in the house sooooo Yea, just a complete shit storm of bad luck events. I usually love trips like these and my Dad and I have done it a handful of times to different states for different cars/projects. I'll try to sum the weekend as concisely as possible so excuse the grammar. 1. Reserved Uhaul car trailer for Friday pick-up @ 7PM. They don't have it for whatever reason and had to scramble to find another and haul ass across town before they closed @ 8 PM. 2. Get on the road around 5:30ish AM. About 8AM on I70 just east of Springfield, OH my dad wants to piss on the side of the road (he's old) and while slowing down hear a loud whining sound, then some clunking, and then the rear end locks up as I bring it to a stop. Look back 50 yds and on the side of the road is the driveshaft. (see pic for reference) 3. No U-hauls within 30 miles open until 10AM. Get a tow to the nearest one with an available 1-way truck. Try to reserve it over the phone with a 90 yr old lady who couldn't figure anything out. Get off the phone and try to reserve it online....it gets snatched before I can finalize (happened in like 5 minutes). 4. Call a regional rep who says U-haul has zero 1-way trucks available in the entire state until like 7 PM. Decide to get towed to another U-haul, drop the truck, rent a domestic truck to go get the spec B and then rent another 1-way truck to get us home later. 5. Hook-up the trailer to the truck and get back on the road around 11:45AM, get to Booze's house and it starts raining pretty good. Try to wait it out for a bit, doesn't slow up, so load the car up in the rain. 6. Get back to the Sprinfield, OH u-haul. Drop the trailer, check-out that truck @ 10PM, try to check-in the other truck and it says my reservation was expired because 2 hrs later than scheduled. Call U-haul, wait time is 30 minutes @ 10PM (like dafuq? ), get the reservation renewed, hook the trailer up to a 10ft box truck and get on the road a little after 11PM. 7. Get back at 2AM and the sound of the truck garage door banging over under-construction highway was plenty to keep us awake. 8. Unload the car Sunday morning and took the truck and trailer back to U-Haul. My dad's had a ~$1k tow to get his truck back to South Bend. Had everything went smoothly we should have gotten the car and been back in my driveway by 7PM at the latest. I hope I never have to go through a series of events like that ever again. It was great meeting Eric and he was super accommodating with everything that went down. Enjoyed a couple of beers while waiting on the rain and getting the car loaded.
  7. Interested to hear your thoughts as well. I almost pulled the trigger on these for the TSX wagon but TireRack had estimated delivery in mid-July and they couldn't even guarantee that. Decided to go with the AS3+'s since the tires were shot and needed something quickly.
  8. Finished stripping all the interior bits from the SpecB that I want to throw in the wagon and got word from Madrig my carbon fiber order is complete. Just need to get the SpecB towed to the shop and let them take over pulling the 6spd and aluminum suspension bits. Between the Legacy, S2000, and TSX Wagon projects I'm started to feel a smidge overwhelmed with the stacks of parts spread throughout the house. Oh well, just got to keep on chugging and get them all finished before adding anything else to the list.
  9. Drove it to work today and had to remember to avoid BoozeRS05's spec b that I picked up this weekend and is now parked in front of the house. Looking forward to stripping it down and spec'in out the wagon after what was probably the most horrible weekend trip I've ever had in my life, logistically speaking. Meeting and chatting with Eric was a great time but everything else about that trip was just pure garbage and I won't be driving across state lines for a parts car anytime soon again.
  10. Washed it and the other cars on Saturday, then took some photos with the wife's new car. Would have taken more if she didn't ask me to stop.
  11. My formerly SWP wagon with the wife's new TSX sport wagon. Really getting our Yin & Yang on.
  12. It did. It would scrape on the driveway (mildly steep) if I backed straight out but was fine if taking it at an angle. I hit a few parking curbs as well when backing in depending on how tall they were. Took it off for good once we picked up a Jeep and it's just been taking up space in the garage.
  13. Ha true, I don't think I'll ever buy a brand new car. I've got an in depth look at loan and depreciation schedules for our clients that we maintain their books for and between the interest and depreciation it never makes sense from a personal finance standpoint. Hell, some of our clients do it wrong to where it doesn't even make sense from a business standpoint but that's what they want to do. We're looking at a '14 TSX Wagon this weekend. I'm hoping we can add another wagon to the stable.
  14. You can say that again. I want to make a temporary wall piece in my office with this and the killer b coated headers until everything goes one. Sort of a play on yin and yang. As far as I know he is, just super busy since his work makes parts for respirators. He's actually had the turbo since last August but there was an issue with the center housing and it took some time to find a machinist to get what he needed. I was never in a rush since my turbo is running fine but I'm beyond grateful to him for sticking with it. It's going to be tough waiting to get this and everything else on. Circuit Demon headlights, the JDM post-facelift, and potentially the 6 spd swap are happening before this and I may have finally convinced my wife to get a newer car. She's been getting baby-crazy and I told her it's easier to get a more baby friendly car now and paid off than after one comes.
  15. Changed the oil on 3 of the 4 cars. Also installed an IAG Pitch Stop (street series), Cusco steering rack brace, lower control arm brace and the Perrin steering lock down. Pretty amazed at how much heavier and less play is in the steering wheel now. I expected a difference but not that much.
  16. It's possible, your painter would need to be pretty skilled as white pearls are very hard to match. My vote is with Shogun & Infosecdad, find a SWP JDM bumper and put the funds there. All JDM bumpers look better than the USDM.
  17. Could be wrong but I think he has these. I have a set on my wagon as well and was a cheap, easy way to get the tips to extend past the bumper and not have to worry about melting it. https://www.urotuning.com/products/burger-motorsports-e-chassis-slip-on-n51-n52-exhaust-tips?variant=8150876880951&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlvbcys7p6QIVkYbACh226gKTEAQYASABEgJf1PD_BwE
  18. Haven't done anything to the wagon lately other than driving it. Getting pumped for some projects that are going to be coming to a head. My JmP BNR18g should be done before the end of the month. JDM postfacelift headlights are getting sent out to Circuit Demon in a week. When those get done the JDM facelift and S402 fenders are getting done. Also had a good call with BoozeRS05 over the weekend and we came to an agreement that I'll be taking his specB off his hands in the next month or so. He's keeping the motor/turbo and other stuff from it while I'm in it for the 6spd and aluminum suspension bits. Looking forward to getting the wagon spec'd out.
  19. Oh yeah, they'll be getting rebuilt regardless of the shape they're in since I'll be re-coating all 4 to a red color. Bleeders not working properly or in need of repair is about the only red flag for a set in rougher shape.
  20. The rears by themselves seem to be commanding a premium. Most I find are in the $500 range but I see full F/R sets pop up from time to time for $800-900. My issue is I need to find decent rears by themselves since I'm going the 6 pot route on the fronts. Not trying to buy a full set and then re-sell the fronts.
  21. That's what seems weird to me, I've been trying to find the parts info and if it was used for other models as well. It makes zero sense to me Subaru used a one-off part for the tbSTI. I'm not in a rush to get this done, just in the initial planning/budgeting stage and still have other projects I need to finish up first. Would be nice if 08+ calipers would work. The reportedly larger piston size would be a nice bonus if could be worked out for fairly the same cost as upgrading to 04-07 versions. Not looking for answers, just opinions and feedback. I've started the process of gathering parts (STI MC/Booster & SS lines). Just don't want to deal with custom rotors if they ever need replaced for whatever reason in the distant future. Whenever this project starts the rear trailing arms are getting swapped out for specB aluminum and not sure if they would need to be shaved or not with the tbSTI rear backing plate. My guess is they use the same trailing arm. Like awfulwaffle said, check out brakeswap.com and they have a SS kit that is designed specifically for the Legacy with rear Brembo's. Appreciate everyone's input. Really need to find some decent rear calipers before diving in further with this.
  22. I've always lived by "if it can kill you, don't buy it from Harbor Freight".
  23. Bored at work and wanted to get a few opinions on which way is the better route to convert the rears to Brembo's. Below is what I've narrowed it down too and I do not want to have to use custom rotors. I'm leaning towards the aftermarket approach for availability and apparent lower cost but still wanted to get some feedback. 1. Aftermarket Route - Price ~$400 - Brembo caliper bracket adapters (i.e. torque solutions, kart boy, etc.) ~$175-~$200 - Parking Brake Adapter Shoes - ~$200 (Flatirons Tuning) or 2. JDM/OEM Route - Price ~$400-~600 - Source a set of tbSTI rear brake backing plates which eliminates the need for both of the adapters in option 1. - Price and availability are both variable, currently one set for sale on Japan auctions for ~$500 before shipping. From what I can tell there is still no straight forward way to get +08 rear Brembo's to work without a custom caliper bracket. So any one have a lead on a set of 04-07 rear Brembo's for sale?
