  1. That would be the plan but not entirely sure how I'd do it yet. Initial thoughts would be to find a mouthpiece (for lack of a better term) that fits over the back of the vent in the fender and tapers down to a tube/hose that can be ran to an ideal spot in the engine bay with a sort of velocity stack/horn fitting attached on that end. From there, the Bernoulli principle should take over and the air passing over the fender would create a low pressure vacuum and draw out the engine bay air through the tube. The fitting over the vent would need to be air tight otherwise I bet I'd just be pulling air that is in between the fender and wheel well lining. Idk though, I'll have to look at things more with the fender off.
  2. Lol lofty indeed, but if anyone could do it it would be madrig. I'm itching to see his carbon panel that he teased a few days ago.
  3. Nothing currently. I want to see what the fitment of my 245/40s are with less camber before thinking about a wider wheels or tires. If i did go wider, the rear fenders would need some work to accomodate as all the free space is pretty much gone. Now if only someone could make a drop in rear fender that is wider than stock....that would be very tempting.
  4. Please update on the steering wheel controls if you get to it sooner or later. Exact same thing happened to me when I installed a 2011 STI wheel with controls. Got everything wired up, turn the key to auxillary position and turned on the lights to ensure they were lighting up. They did and then I went to button the interior up and when I went to take the car for a drive to test the cruise they didn't light up or work. Haven't had the time to take it apart and check everything yet.
  5. *clutches pearls* NEVER! I'm getting buried in that thing. In other news, I had some developments today. The ebay seller sent me the incorrect pair of facelift headlights. They're very similar but there is some glaring differences to what I received from the listing pictures once you look closely. Curious to see how this is going to play out. Luckily paid through paypal. Ordered the Radium fuel rails, fueling line/plumbing kit and TGV delete housings just for consistency. I'll be posting my BNIB IAG TGV deletes and Aeromotive A1000 fpr for sale shortly since their fueling kit comes with an regulator. Finally, the S402 fenders arrived today and damn are these babies wide. Interestingly I was always under the impression that the fender vents were functional and never really looked into it but they're not, so I'll have a dremel project one of these weekends.
  6. Nope, they're rolled currently but that's the extent of it. If I remember correctly, madrig measured the width of the car at the front & rear fenders when he made his wide fender kit and the rears are wider to begin with. I think I'm all set and got the one I've want. Maybe pick-up the facelift sti bumper in the distant future just to have options in case I get bored with one look. Once this is done I need to get everything remaining for the turbo upgrade and I have everything I need for the brembo upgrades besides the brembos and rotors. Very nice! I've been trying to find that lip spoiler but I haven't seen any that aren't already attached to a bumper. Personally my favorite facelift bumper style.
  7. Direct replacement for the JDM pre-facelift head lights. Not sure on JDM post-facelift but I'll find that out soon enough. Huge fan of Osram's. Have them in both my Legacy and S2k and the light output is fantastic. Only downsides are the price and shorter lifespan compared to other HID bulbs.
  8. If your thinking of swapping out the HID low beams in the JDM headlights I wouldn't do it. Put in Osram D2S HID bulbs (CBB, CBI or CBH) and the light output will be second to none. LEDs for everything else. Go off the color scale listed for each bulb and you should get everything to match. Some maybe slighly off between brands of bulbs but just return those and get a higher/lower color on the scale.
  9. If your just doing a replacement it's easy enough. Remove the grill, 1-2 (can't remember exactly) bolts by each headlight and a bolt on each fender well. Unplug your fogs, if applicable, and it will come off. I'm doing more than just a bumper replacement. I'm upgrading from USDM pre-facelift to JDM facelift which requires new/different fenders, headlights, grill, bumper, shorter bumper beam, and fender linings. Mine is the white and how it currently sits, when done it will have the style of the black.
  10. Everything is now ordered or en route for the JDM facelift. Fenders and headlights should be arriving this week. Hopefully the bumper does as well. Decided to be a little extra and got a S402 grill with emblem. It's showing some signs of wear but nothing that can't be rehabed. Also had trouble finding the exact STI lip that is recommended for the BP9 2.0GT bumper so I bought one new from Nengun and also found the STI rubber strip for the lip on Japan Parts. Also went ahead and picked up some more parts for the eventual turbo upgrade. Got the killer b oil pan, pick-up, windage tray, and IAG turbo feed lines. In addition to that I purchased the rear oil galley adaptor bolt and oil pan adapter bolt so I can run the STI Defi gauge sensors to those locations since I'll need to be removing the sandwich plate for the headers. I think I said back in December I wasn't buying anymore parts until spring of this year. What a crock that was.
  11. I believe this guy has some Tomei ELH available. https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/phx-metro-az-totaled-my-07-spec-b-whats-sale-280861.html
  12. Damn, I got a good deal on mine then. Although I still need to figure in the cost to paint. Glad to see your still giving updates here. I'll get around to making an instagram account sooner or later to keep following.
  13. Getting prepared to go all in on the facelift conversion. I've everything purchased/ordered/in route and only need the bumper beam, grill, and a pair of headlights. If anyone has a lead on any of those items let me know.
  14. Yes they do lol. I was also surprised for how long they've been on the auctions. Everytime they were listed the acution time was 1-2 days tops, no bids, and quickly relisted. I'm anxious to see what the shipping cost will be for these. Probably going to be the first time I choose the sea mail route. Guessing shipping is going to be somewhere around $650, or at least I hope. The shipping for the jdm sti mufflers I bought were ~$240 but the jdm doorcards were ~$450.
  15. Welp, I got myself a set of S402 fenders. Got sick of looking at these beautiful bastards everytime I logged onto Yahoo Japan Auctions.
  16. Yep, the plan is to run on the stock motor and do the Killer B headers, tgv deletes, ID1050's, and other fuel upgrades all at once rather than piece meal out and pay for several tunes. I'll do another compression & leak down test before everything goes on and then tune conservatively for 325-350ish. Whenever the motor goes the plan is for an IAG closed deck and basically have an over-built motor that can support 650hp/tq so if I ever get bored I can just upgrade the turbo/injectors or go rotated depending on the power I want. Anything over 450 to the wheels and I probably won't be daily driving it anymore.
  17. These should get the thread entirely caught-up to how the car currently sits today.
  18. Got the car dyno tuned in May of '19 by Shinji of ShinjiTuned. Car made roughly 268whp/283wtq. Car was later e-tuned when I added the 3-port EBCS. Random pic's.
  19. Final paint pic's, a few shots one of the younger guys at the shop took, and first day I had it back in the garage.
