  1. Received the car back the next day. Asked for the hose clamps back. Cause I noticed they just attached the worm gear clamps again to the hard line. Started to go on about how they were leaking at the radiator too... First I hear that part of that so going to believe this is BS. I mentioned your $1 hose clamps are going to trump subaru's engineers because of your experience? My reply was they weren't leaking when I brought it in! So I was just expecting two spring clamps to be returned. Then a shop monkey came from the back and handed him six more.... So now I have their crappy worm gears on all the hoses... Awesome! Never going back unless there is a major failure in the warranty period. I'll be getting a thermostat and trans cooler in the near future. So at that point will replace all the hoses and their stupid hose clamps.
  2. If I didn't just finish all this work on the car I'd be buying it as a backup. This is a steal of a deal! Again GLWTS Boozer!
  3. Safe yeah. I'm at 265 ish with stock injectors and DP. Spools up nice to 17 PSI.
  4. Yeah. Makes you question what else they skipped inside the transmission! Probably could have fixed it by pulling cutting them back but FFS. After spending a large sum to get this far I'm holding them accountable. I was trying to give them the benefit of doubt it was a sloppy cleanup. Hosed out the area prior to taking it back. But no. It's a leak. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  5. Transmission shop has my car again. They managed to screw up the NEW radiator ATF lines. Found a leak under the fender well. Upon inspection found worm gear AND spring clamps on the hard line??????? Worm gear installed so tight it has rubber squished out! The main guy had some BS about they had bad luck with spring clamps.... Bla Bla BLa... Well it they didn't leak when I brought it in and they were brand new! This is why I have a hard time with other people working on my stuff.
  6. Nice bit of kit. Have the same unit minus the coating. Good deal for the right person.
  7. A little far from you but I have been happy so far with my experience with M45 up in Auburn.
  8. Not sure why the heavy degradation. Found out there are to pumps. Front and Rear. First it was the lines under the hood. Next was pump line one under the fender. Then finally the unit under the wing and rear fender pump feed. Surely the isopropyl didn't help. But the heat out here likely didn't either.
  9. I've had to replace most of the wiper fluid hoses from the pump thru the fender, rear hatch under the wing and under the hood. It all turned into a gummy mess and split. Using some silicon based hose now. Was happy to see a different material used after it goes inside the cabin. Had an issue last year up in Idaho. Fluid I had in there was not the low temp version. So it froze like a rock. To remedy this I poured in some 70% isopropyl and ran it thru while I was driving back to Cali.
  10. Did the VAC route last night with a spare blue T. No luck there. Did a ECUReset and waiting to see how the Learning View looks after the monitors are all clear. Daughter took it to school last night so there were more miles placed on it than my initial test post change. After the trans shop had it and new map installed all of the learning view were pegged as -7.10 for A, B and C. I was not very happy seeing how they connected the IC clamp to the TB hose. Just a wee bit outside.
  11. I'm having a hard time ignoring it. Will try things one at a time. First get this vac line routed. See how that affects things. Next try another pass with the tuner at ACVS timing. I want to get him in the car on the freeway so I can replicate it more than just a 10 min drive around the block. If no go on either then go for FPR and another pass at AVCS.
  12. Ordered a Turkylord T from Company23 and pondering a early STI FPR as documented here by covertrussian as options to help with the stumble. One thing at a time. Will talk to the tuner about the AVCS timing. See what he has set in there. I can't see it since the tune is pass code protected. Need it to stop raining before I get under the hood.
  13. Had a chance to drive the car a few hundred miles yesterday. On the way back from the foothills was able to manage 24mpg through the valley. Transmission is settling nicely. There is and probably always will be a hard 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 shift from time to time. Dropped into the shop to check with the tuner on a drive check. We didn't have much time to mess around. Could not find any miss or stumble this time. Yet it's still there. Just before boost starts to build it's hesitating/not smooth. Potential is I need some new injectors, yet no misfires logged. He didn't see any issues with the throttle body position sensor, all looked normal. Need to take the car over to the Trans shop for their 500 mile checkup and warranty sign off.
  14. No. Just be my luck to need one after 257K and upgrading everything else.
  15. New map received on the 14th. Will let it run for a bit before commenting more on that front. TransGo seems will always have a 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 hard shift. All others are settling. Get on the pipe and man it shifts hard. Will be ordering an new drive shaft this year I feel.
  16. Transmission work done. Transgo kit installed. TCU learning. Logs sent to tuner for stumble/hesitation just as boost is just starting to build. Tuner is OOO till the 15th.
  17. I'd be at your door step with a trailer if you were on the left coast. Sorry for your loss GLWTS.
  18. LCA was my last Groaning set, only after chassis heat soak. Granted these are the Mevotech bushings and not very high quality that came with a cheap pair of aluminum LCA. Waiting the cars return for swapping the stock set with new STI spec large bushings and LGT front bushing. Probably need to get some new Moog endlinks.
  19. This is good to know. Keep looking at Craigslist for a Daughter car. She's not getting my OBXT forever. Dropped off a case of ATF to the transmission shop. On the way remembered I had a RalliTek rear trans support stiffener. Asked for the part over the weekend and settled on delivering it for them to press in. Since I didn't see the car in the lot could only assume it's on a lift and waiting for the new unit install. Barring parts unobtanium I hopefully will have the car back this week.
  20. I have not made the jump. However the +45 18" may work with 245/45/18. But I'm not lowered. It's as close as you can ask for a compromise to not mettle with the speedometer/OD correction.
  21. Were back to communicating as of yesterday. He just called me making sure I really want the transgo kit in it. Concern is it is going to shift harder... While we spoke I did ask if he's intending to use the factory ATF. Since the answer was no I'm going to go buy a case and take it over there. Reading up in the manual a rebuild would take 10.1 to 10.6 qt.
  22. Holy picture dump! Thanks for sharing. Some nice cars. Your shop and store are missed for sure. But you pulled out at the right time.
  23. Me too... Frustrating. Good call on checking clearance.... Clarance.
  24. Rebuild the blown unit and stuff it in there. That way your 100% on the internals. I got lucky when buying the new head castings from Infamous years ago. I picked up new guides as well for good measure. Those sat in the horde until this last rebuild since the new castings had fresh guides in them. Was happy to use them finally. I've had one JDM swap in my life. On a honda civic. Not sure I'd do that on a Subaru. Now time to call the transmission shop again for ETA. They keep stalling. Giving me grief about it running rough. As I told them... Group N motor mounts are going to give some NVH until they heat soak. Stop talking to me about the motor and get this Trans rebuilt! It has 257K on it, Dammit! Thursday last week he promised a job estimate... Here we are afternoon the following week and still nothing.
  25. I have one in Black unit from them... went the same route. Direct as possible. Cut it in half since I couldn't run it with the Madrig snorkus. Was happy to find the second half during the motor install as I went back to the stock snorkus.
