  1. This is why it took me about 3 years to build mine. I bought all the parts when sales came around, and saved up money so i was not hurting when the time came to sed her off. By the way the moroso oil pickup is legit with stock pan. I know people want KB cause the name and that what people see other, but I went a different route and it's fine. In the long run if you're going to keep the car it's cheaper than buying these new hunks of junk with no heart. they all look the same and are overpriced.
  2. I will have to find the place I bought mine from, but the guy will make a full plug and play harness for a JDM DD kit. All I did was plug it all in and it worked.
  3. Amsoil would work just fine. I can't tell you how much of this I have sold to people, and they have no problems all year or any climate. Look it up.
  4. Oh I am past doing this myself. I save up my money, buy the pasts, and I pay the shop. they have already told me they can know it out. they do this all the time.
  5. Thanks for this. I am taking my time and buying things as I go. I have my list and am planning on having them installed in June. Just ordered the KNS line kit.
  6. Ok So doing research and spending time talking to the shop, here is what I have. Since I am a parts dealer, I and going buy my front parts first. The back is somewhat weird. I did not know the Outback has a massive rear rotor (5x100) and setup that can work. You said the Kartboy is ok, is there a better one? Front: DBA Slotted 4000 Series Rotors Hawk Street 5.0 Front Brake Pad Brembo (I never track/Car gets driven on nice days) KNS Stainless Steel Brake Lines for STI Brembo Swap - Full Set Amsoil Fluid Rear: DBA 98-06 WRX Upgrade to STi Calipers w/ Standard 170mm KNS Stainless Steel Brake Lines Hawk Street 5.0 Front Brake Pad Brembo This will be all that is needed to put them on my 06 LGT
  7. So I would need the 170mm rotors in that link plus the adapter for rears? for the fronts it's just STI rotors and pads since it bolts up right? what brake lines did you run?
  8. Thanks, I know the fronts will work out, and I am a parts guy so I can get everything for these cars. I am getting the Kartboy V2 adapters for the rear. (Shop said I would need them). I have read that I might need bolts and so on. I might just call the guy at the shop and write it down and order what is needed. I have 2 sets of wheels (both x 8), They should fit. I will check that.
  9. Picked these up for a steal yesterday, going to get the SS lines, pads, and bolts needed for my 06 LGT. I need help finding the mater thread on what is needed. I am taking them up to my shop to have them installed so I do not screw things up. I did look for threads about STI breaks install and found very old ones. just trying to make sure I get the correct Steel lines, and rotors. thanks
  10. What in the Sam Hell am I looking at. Leave those N/A motors along lol . I love the 06-08 N/A cars they run so good.
  11. I agree 1000% with you Teh. I catch Scatpacks, Hellcats, and other crazy V8 cars off guard because they always seem to give me the hit thinking I just have shinny mufflers lol. (I polish all items). When they get next to me they always say "I didn't think you had that type of power" Yes, cars coming or with 400 - 800 stock, we really have no chance, so we have to keep the sleeper status. I still think is really cool to build these cars. i just do not like having a car everyone else has. I see WRX, and a few STi's but no OBXT, or LGTs. It so funny when I pull up to meets and you see the normal BMWs, 350z, supra, SRT4, WRX, and then when they see mine their minds are blown.
  12. I like how you said your building a street car lololol . Reading your story and the stuff your going through I am so happy I just had a shop do all my stuff and they know Subaru's. I really thought about getting a staged block, but just went different route. It's cool to see you doing this. I am following your post. A closed deck is the way to go. PSS You gonna need that STI 6MT
  13. Just for Legacy GT sake, give it one good medium to hard take off against that TT infinity, you will get him. Have like a bit over a quarter tank of gas (Less weight lol), fast for a few days (Less weight haha), and you should be able to do this with out tire spin and your golden. Now this might be your only chance lol. You will be surprised what cars you can take out and how many hearts you will break. If you can jump him a few cars, and get into 3rd, I think you will get him. Nice build!!
  14. I will say it again, do not cut corners. Get the new part. that's called stupid tax lol
  15. I live by Raxles, and never had a problem with them. I assume your using the OEM seals? I had this problem with my car also after the rebuild, the shop said something was going on and the resealed and I have not had a problem.
  16. You have the same car I have and year. It is going to make noise no matter what you do haahaha lol. People think my car has a dog box as loud as the trans is on decel. It perfectly fine it due to the mounts I put in the car. I have a full JL system So i do not hear any weird Subaru noises. I am also full external wastage so it's loud. Either keep it stock or mod it and live with it. these are old cars ands they will make noise. I love it!
  17. Ugggh I have the same problem on my driver side just a little. I have to push on it a little with my knee to put it in place.
  18. You do not need a tune for the STI 6MT swap. My shops does this plenty and never do a tune.
  19. I was going to do a header, and the shop said do not even waste your money unless I was going for big power.
  20. This is great, the AP3 still can be tuned even with the stuff cobb has done. Just got mine done 2 weeks ago. Car is solid.
  21. Head gaskets is what I would guess. I know from experience from my 08 N/A those years has phase II paper gaskets and the would go. I had the same issues and drove the car for years keeping and eye on things till I pulled the motor and replaced everything.
  22. Geez really, you didn't want to just go 6MT and be done?
