Too good to pass up
NORULZleggy replied to blackobxt's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I would rent a truck and trailer and go get it if it is that good of a deal. Then retune the car on 93 and be happy. Dang i would lone to have this. -
You can either rebuild it if you really love it, or sell it and start over. 8K is a bit high, but each shop it different when it comes to price. I understand if the price is too high, but I think you got the short end of the stick with this LGT. Mine was smoking and leaking oil so bad when i bought it, meaning i knew I was going to spend 8K plus to get it where I want it. It's all about the money you want to spend.

Well I have had it parked since I found the milk shake rad fluid. I am taking to the same place that built my LGT. Shame I not have to Daily my LGT . I will chime in and let you all know what it could be. The shop I sent the pic to did mention that it looks like trans fluid, so I am hoping it can all be flushed and taken care of. I have the CVT flushed few years back. I cannot see of find an HG leak myself. -

hahaah Yes the overflow is the same, No there was no oil added to water or anything. I do all my own oil changes with Amsoil. I never remove the rad cap or overflow cap when I do oil changes. just this one time I decided to check and this. Called the shop that built my LGT and going to get either a used motor or fix this. Car still runs great. Waiting to hear back. -
I know the FB25 had problem from the factory, but never knew it had head gasket problems. I knew about 4 years ago that my buddy at the dealer was dropping in motor often because of SOA was fixing the issues. Going to the shop that build my LGT to get a used FB put if needed. I check the car often and do not remember it looking that bad. Well my LGT will get some more miles, and the T-dog my daily will get some also.

So my 2013 2.5i my wife drive does have the FB25 engine oil burn issue, but I do check it often. I saw this because I decided to check. Is it head gasket? or what, i plan on getting it fixed. -
Do they even know what would be missing on an 08. I been to places with my 04 STI and they had no clue and passed it lol Just said I need wipers haha. Call raxels and talk to them I never had an issue and they would want to hear about it, Also check out FAG Wheel bearings, My 06 LGT has these and they have been great.

Finally fixed, now let's talk coilovers!
NORULZleggy replied to Tehnation's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I have ran many different sets of coilovers on my 4th gens. I ran a set of 600 dollar Teins and I loved the way they road. they were on my car for 4 year and i sold car and they still were in great shape. I am now running ISC Suspension coilovers on my 06 LGT. I love the ride and they price was great. I sell all types of coilovers and yes I can get KW and all the other crazy 3k ones. I would not put them on a old car. On a R35 or say R8 that I been looking at i would. If you get a good set at about 1200-1400 and you just take the gap out and lower it a bit, the car will ride perfect. If you want to tuck rim or flush it will ride like crap. Make sure they have pillow ball mount, it makes the ride even better. -

Remans I always stayed away from since my early days driving subarus. You either rebuild the stock green daddys or get some from raxels. had mine stocks rebuilt few years back. it cost a little less but they are solid. The raxels I ordered i think were better then stock. -

From research and what i have been told, along with the shop that has built my subies, the 2013 has a strong trans. They did change something in the MY13 because the prevs had issues. I had mine serviced about 2 years ago and they knew all about these CVTs. So far at 160K my 2013 2.5i runs great. I am not talking about performance or going fast at all, I have my LGT for that, and daily driver ford Taurus. Never heard anything about a glass tranny for these cars. I mean my other half drives it with the kids and AC on so it is a turd and slow. great car as long as you take care of it. -

I clean my MAF on all three of my cars twice a year. An old mechanic swear by it, and he said he did it to many of his customer cars, and they had very few problems. CRC MAF cleaner -
