SomeZero
This is good your wallet gets to figure out the fmic. And I'll dedicate mine to getting a real 6 speed to work The pool at my shop had better payout right now on me blowing the trans before I build the motor in Jan. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4 Actually I'm saving quite a chunk of change by doing it myself. Cores are relatively inexpensive. If one doesn't fit just return it, no big deal. Figuring out how to mount it isn't very difficult. I'm slightly dreading fitting the piping though...something tells me it'll be a long drawn out process. ebo03
Grimmspeed license plate relocation kit came yesterday. Now to figure out how to mount it to the AMS crash bar. Probably going to weld a couple nuts directly to the bar or connect the nuts to the bar with some 3/8" round bar. Cobb license plate delete will be here tomorrow. Hoping to figure out the piping this weekend then get it welded up within a couple weeks. Also need to have the core anodized black soon.
ebo03
Accomplished a fair amount today. Got the Grimmspeed license plate relocation kit sorted out. I bent a 3/16" piece of round bar into an "L" shape then had two M16x1.50 nuts welded to the bottom of the "L" which was then welded to the AMS crash bar. I finished the hot side piping. Tomorrow I hope to knock out the cold side piping, which will probably be a bit more challenging. I have a game plan...we'll just see how it goes. J shape 180° pipe from throttle body routed above the fuel lines, hump hose, straight pipe to 75° pipe to 45° pipe should make the bend around the battery and down between the windshield washer filler neck and fluid reservoir, 90° hose to connect to 90° pipe from the outlet of the core. pic 1 - driver side piping clearance pic 2 - passenger side piping clearance pic 3 - bracket and nuts for Grimmspeed relocation kit pic 4 - core mounted to AMS crash bar
SBT
Good job man. Is it just my perspective, or is the intercooler "tipped" slightly left in this pic, or is it the crash bar that's off? http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=164747&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1381040278 Keep up the great work - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

Keep up the great work Probably just the angle of the pic. I was sandwiched between the bumper cover and wall of my garage trying to snap something showing as much of the setup as possible. Core is spaced evenly on bar. My buddy even used a set of calipers to measure it before he welded the brackets.
ebo03
If by some odd chance it is off I'm sure it will go unnoticed once the core is anodized black. Or should I be a ricer and get it anodized a loud color??? Hahaha not going to happen.

s2baru
Go ORANGE! -S2ubaru YOLO! hahaha....seriously though I wwon't be adding any orange into piping or engine bay. Granted I have orange going on but right now I think is JUST the right amount.

ebo03
Pics of today's progress. Need to adjust the bend on the J pipe from the throttle body. I didn't realize before today that the throttle body actually sits at an angle. Once I get a properly bent pipe then I'm golden. On the cold side an S pipe snakes through the windshield washer fluid reservoir and filler neck perfectly to mate to the 90° piping off the outlet. 75° piping will work with the S to route around the battery. ebo03
All piping is cut and mocked up. Just need to have it welded now. Planning for that to happen the weekend of October 19. Will post pics of it tomorrow...time to crash now.
ebo03
Here are pics as promised. However, they probably aren't what anybody had hoped for. After a long night getting it all cut and fit last night I didn't have it in me to reassemble it just for the sake of pics. The black tape on the end of some of the pipes is to mark those that need a bead rolled on the ends. I'm taking the core for anodizing and the AMS crash bar for blasting and fresh powder tomorrow. In a bit of a time crunch as I am planning to have the piping welded next Saturday Oct. 19. I'll post pics of the anodized core and finished crash bar next week when I pick them up. acumenhokie
Any idea how much the ebo FMIC kit will cost going forward?
SomeZero
I might have missed it so sorry if I did. But are you moving the turbo at all to pipe in an EWG? Also any thoughts on going to the NA intake manifold for the increased flow now that the tmic is out of the way? ebo03
Any idea of how much ebo FMIC kit will cost going forward? Let's see. Here's a rough figure of the cost: Vibrant 12810 core $235 Piping $150 (assuming you don't make any mistakes) Silicone couplers & clamps $160 AMS crash bar $120 Grimmspeed plate relocation kit $70 Anodizing $150 (estimate) Powder coating & fab work $75 (estimate) My labor PRICELESS Grand total $960 assuming you can't live with a silver core and want the license plate relocated. In all honesty I'd say I have about 40 hours in this "little" project. Of course if I did it again I could probably knock it out in about 10-20 hours. I'd say at least half of my time was for R&D. acumenhokie
Since I'm in DE we don't have a front plate so that'll save me $70. If I can sell my RacerX for $500 then it's just $390 + labor. We'll need to calculate your hourly rate. This is minimum wage work right?
