copenhagen6123
I have mine down to block halves now and inspected the crank. All is well and forged internals are in the works!
careercadaver
Nice progress. Now the fun part begins..lol Thus far I've had quite a bit of fun with it! Now the expensive part begins!! Lol I have mine down to block halves now and inspected the crank. All is well and forged internals are in the works! Nice!! I've decided I'm going with an OE block and conservative tuning...if my current block is fine I may build that as I have interest, just need this running ASAP... careercadaver
If figure if I'm going to push the OE block any harder than the initial tune it will be on e85.
copenhagen6123
Almost all of my scoob buddies in Omaha are on corn with id1000's on stock motors with no issues what so ever. Although one of them is definitely on borrowed time with a gt35r and ten second quarter mile passes haha!
careercadaver
Lol. I bet. Wish we had more consistent e85 locally...my closest station is a 20min drive... I have a good buddy putting together a 2.7L Stroker w/ a 30r. I believe target numbers on e85 are 500whp @ 30ish psi...gonna be a monster... copenhagen6123
Monster for sure and very doable! Eventually my goals are 400whp on e85 and 350 or so on pump. I'm still up in the air about a turbo but I got some time to decide while all the funds are currently tied up in the internals lol.

careercadaver
Nice parts list man I know that wasn't cheap! Definitely not. Just trying to do this right the first time. Sending my injectors off to WitchHunter this week as well for a clean and flow test. Hoping to remove the heads today and as soon as I have my gasket set in I'll be taking the heads to be refreshed. Hoping this runs a a brand new engine would. Picked up a TSK3 Kit w/ TOB as well last night. Still in need if an Uppipe but we're making progress... careercadaver
Made another push on the engine today. Heads are removed and ready for the refresh...ordered a full gasket kit that I am now waiting on...hopefully early next week. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a348/cricket056/05LGT/554658_10151623390393385_1078439192_n_zpse4c69cac.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a348/cricket056/05LGT/485378_10151623390488385_1499619310_n_zpsc10c1be5.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a348/cricket056/05LGT/547097_10151623390573385_1426695892_n_zps39a369bc.jpg
careercadaver
Picked up a few things today... TSK3 Kit w/ TOB Invidia Uppipe Still need a few other small things...hoping to see most of this before the weekend. PCV After MAF Hose Intercooler Hose Set Drop-In Air Filter I'm sure there's more...a few hoses, plugs, o rings for injectors, etc.. Considering skipping the After MAF and filter and just sourcing a CAI that draws from the wheel well. Only reason I question the CAI is that unplanned to keep this one a little quieter... careercadaver
Engine arrived yesterday and I sent out my injectors to WitchHunter for cleaning and flow testing on Friday. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a348/cricket056/05LGT/image_zps3d8d9781.jpg I have a few more items to receive yet and a few hoses to pick up. copenhagen6123
Nice short block! I am waiting for my main bearings to come in so I can get the block back together.
careercadaver
^^ I bet you're stoked! Wish I would have had enough for a built block but this should still be a fun car once things are situated.
Dead91silvia
So where did you get your short block? Subaru?
careercadaver
So where did you get your short block? Subaru? Flatirons had the best price at $1800 plus shipping. Importimageracing matched and beat every price I found that was lower than their website. I've done quite a bit of business with Josh and Billy in the past. I'd recommend them to anyone! careercadaver
^^ They're good guys! Got my heads back from the refresh but I'm still waiting on my Gates timing kit and ARP head bolts...I guess they won't ship out till next week sometime. :/ WitchHunter has shipped my injectors back as well...thinking about putting whichever one flows heaviest on piston 4. Got a few things to paint and he's wrap still...wrapped the Invidia Uppipe and I'm considering painting my TGV housings an possibly the manifold...just to clean things up a bit. I've rinsed my oil pan out for or five times a well as the oil pick-up with gasoline and I'm still seeing remnants of unicorn blood...makes me paranoid.
