Snow... Are You Ready?

well for the last 6 years or so there's been some form of ice and or snow and a "special" parking lot that I used to go to with my STi to do some doughnuts or try to get some killer drift/ J turns and the one of the few times I'd rip on my 548whp GTX3582R and I'd have fun driving in the snow

I picked up my LGT 5MT with 60k miles on it in November and immediately went stage 2 with a P&L Massive SRI and a 3 port boost control solenoid protuned by Junior a week later...

but the lack in power in comparison to the STi(boosting 28psi on E85 and 23 on pump vs 16psi while tapering down) so I have plans to get a process west top mount, Blouch DOM 1.5 XT-R or even a DOM 3 XT-R( I really liked the DOM 3...had one in the past before doing 35r...drives like a normal car and power on tap when you wanted to smoke mustang ect =p), fuel pump and I have a set of 850cc injectors just sitting in my garage from when i upgraded the sti to ID 2000

since this car is my DD and my STi is going to be for the track...but i always had a set or dedicated winter rims with Blizzaks for the winter

might sound weird but I actually prefer having my power band more to the right so I don't always boost while i putt putt around town...always feeling like I'm boosting alot when I'm driving to work and I spend 95% shifting before or around 3k rpm light throttle

my LGT already has a built motor with a 257 short block, pistons and rods, STI crank, all the good stuff and new clutch, from P&L and Im doing BBK throwing on sti Brembos with my 18"s cuz to the stock brakes blow...just the pedal feel and emergency braking ability just isn't there...and coming from a full suspension setup to a heavier LGT took some getting use to so looking into some suspension stuff

but I do like having a quiet car...right now I can find a quiet exhaust that's close to stock levels at idle or light driving and can't find the Y pipe with mufflers that I heard of on the forums...I don't care if its loud during WOT cuz I almost never go there

either way sorry for the useless info...I just really want to see how the car performs in the snow or in icy conditions without the help of a DCCD and how it handles differently from 65/35 power split to a 50/50

You better get out there and wash your car. That's my trick for making it rain shenanigans.

Funny you say this, I washed my car two days ago when it was 75* and now there is a couple inches of snow on the ground lol. Good ole' Kansas weather, might have to go play today ;)

Meh, we got some snow here. Maybe 2 inches I guess...maybe. There was the usual ice though so the Subaru got to show off it's insane ability to find traction out of nothing taking my daughter up the hill to her school. FWD cars were making it up too, albeit very slowly, and they were making good use of the curb to provide them extra traction.;)

finally it's snowing right now in Chicagoland land area....only 2-3 inches but it's a start. I finally got to test out my Blizzaks and they were superb...while driving casually it was almost like driving like there was no snow at all. I'm impressed on how the Legacy handled where as my STi was a little more tail happy and the Brembo brakes always caused my abs to kick in under the slightest braking

Is it a bad thing i look forward to driving in the worst weather conditions? I know its unsafe because of inadequate drivers on the road but i really just enjoy driving in blizzards. Took me twelve hours to take a six hour trip once due to an insane storm in 08 but i enjoyed every minute of it.

Bring it on Nemo i got my tire strap to help those drivetrainily impaired :D
