For those of you who have never skied. Here's a few of the reasons we do this.

This one is from about 7:50AM this morning.

Here's one from about 10:45AM

Having trouble with photobucket right now, I'll try and add a couple more later.

Oh the temp at the bottom was 34F, at the summit at about 3400ft it was 53F. The fog stayed in valley most of the day. As you skied down to about 2000ft of elevation the cold would hit you in the face the was so thick early on that you couldn't see 10ft in front of you at times.

It was a great day as long as you stayed above the fog.

Good guess! Hike took about an hour and a half. We went up and around to the boulder field, never having been there before. Well worth it! I wish I had my suby up there it would have been an even more fun weekend! I couldn't believe it though...we hiked around 1pm and we hit entirely untracked. For how SICK it was I would have thought locals had been there...

Thanks, I have a bunch of shot's from the weekend. Both day's were pretty much the same. Sunday was the warmer of the two day's.

I get to see this a couple of times a season.

There are also many beautiful sunrises in the mountains, but sometimes it's just to cold to fiddle with the camera. I'm normally on the snow about 7:20AM on the weekends.

Headed back to VT after work for 4 day's.

Yes, it's something some people never get to see. My GF who just started skiing a few years is still amazed at the views from up there. I tell her just wait until I take her out west.

I must say after all these years, my ski friends and I are in awe of the beauty and power of Mother Nature.

Couldn't have said it any better man! When I was up here... I swear (Not to sound cheesy) But the shit touches the soul. Just like you said, it reminds you just how small we are... Best trip of my life!

I'm STILL trying to get my fiance' out on the slopes so she can understand why I love it so much. And I feel SORRY for people that never get a chance to take something like that in

Oh stop now...your getting me all dewy eyed....

I have a picture of me from 1998 standing on top of the the ridge at Vail where you can look down at both sides, amazing background scenery, that was taken about 2PM after a 18" dump over night.

Another great shot is my son and I with our elbows on the top rail of the Gondola house at Whistler, its at the end of 69 lift towers up the hill. In the summer time that same rail is about 12ft high.

The background in that picture shows the Summit of Whistler in the background that you need to take one lift up to get to. That's what over 5000 of vertical gives you.

When my son was in middle school, he told me on one of our weekend drives to VT, that the kids in school ask him why he goes to VT every weekend. He told them if you have to ask you wouldn't understand.

Oh, it's all good. It's just what you make of it.

I've been skiing with the same group of winter friends for over 15 years. So it's also a social thing too.

I know so many people around the mountain, its hard to go anywhere with seeing someone I know.

We even have the Lifties watching out for us and they update us as to whoes looking for us and where to meet them.
