jmorris6689
Heads are fully cleaned out I'm going to try and have a fully assembled short block done over the weekend. And if I have time start to drop it into the car. It's time to let this beast breathe after over a year off
jmorris6689
http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr353/jmorris6689/null-24.jpg I washed it up yesterday to prep for the motor install. After a year if sitting she still cleans up nicely! Ready to have it move again, pushing it in and out of the garage was no fun.
jmorris6689
I don't know if any of y'all use the rock auto web store but they have crazy cheap subaru timing kits on there and it's the nice gates kit that has the Kevlar belt. And you can buy timing components individually if you don't need a whole kit. Just thought I would share the wealth.

jmorris6689
For the break in I'm gonna run waste gate boost pressure with ams oil high zinc content oil and be pretty easy on it for 1000miles then start to use more power
Strizzy
What are you using for your fuel pump basket/holder for the twin pumps? There was one I was looking at (can't remember the name), but was worried about fueling issue with a 1/4 tank, or less, of fuel. Strizzy
I'll be done with my 1500 mile break-in this week. 4250RPM rev limit with 10psi fuel cut. I varied my speeds/engine loads and engine braked as much as possible. People behind me hated me. My bad luck build
jmorris6689
I made the bracket myself I modled it after one I saw online somewhere And yeah I'll be doing tons of engine braking and not revving high at all

jmorris6689
Soon as I graduate (again) and get a job I'm upgrading rails and to a/n dash10 lines to the bulk head then dash 8 for a return.
jmorris6689
So I was going to use the factory oil cooler, but it costs close to $300 so I've decided to make my own oil cooler and relocate my filter too so that the headers don't bake my oil. This should also increase my oil capacity to around 6-7 quarts with the stock oil pan and leave the oil much cooler than the stock cooler does. Ill post up pics soon as parts arrive next week. As for the rest of my motor the only thing slowing me down is waiting on parts to roll in.

Bout to put in the cam seals, then the pullies, and put it in timing. Just moving right along, I'm finally at the point that I don't have to order any more parts. Just waiting on the oil cooler to arrive, then it's going in the car. Finally after a year and a half I'm getting close!!
