B., I see from your pics there's still snow on the trees. Lucky you!

It's been raining (almost) to the very top of Whistler, the past 2 days.

This is absolutely the worst ski season, since my skiing out this way began, back to '88.

Be grateful for what you have. You could be living in Whistler.

Sorry to see your not getting the good stuff. Is that water in the picture ?

We had another powder day yesterday, well for us any way's. Wasn't a lot of snow, a few inches, but it was great fun. It did change over to a freezing mist about 11AM. So we called it a day.

Love my Volkl Shiro's. they make skiing the fresh snow so easy. I think I sold two pair of them for Volkl yesterday. My ski buddy in the picture above said he's looking for a pair and this other skier on Volkl Bridges was watching me come thorough the natural snow bumps on a trail called Rolling Thunder, I talked to him twice on the trail, then he made a point of getting on the chair with me to talk more about the skis.

I did just see the national weather picture for the next week, showing the warm weather the west coast is getting. That sucks.

Hopefully that will change.

I went to the Breckenridge, Colorado area from 1/25 - 1/30. It didn't snow the entire time we were there :( but at least there were some beautiful, sunny days. 1 day each at Breck, A Basin, and Vail. 2 days at Keystone. Early on there was some snow hidden in trees and back bowls but by mid-week it was just sun-baked crust. Pic is looking out from Wapiti Peak in Keystone.

I'm moving to Albuquerque this summer so next season I'll get in a lot more ski days. 2.5hr to Taos, 5hr to Telluride, 6hr to central CO places. Also I'll be living at elevation so hiking bowls won't be as brutal.

Great picture, thanks for that.

Have friends out at Breck right now, they flew out last Wednesday.

Just checked the Okemo ski report, they are saying 36" in the past week. There was lots of snow if you went looking for it.

I hope you're getting after it, B! Those amounts are once in a lifetime events. Ski till you can't, then do another run.

Yes, that's water in the pic at the top. Now, the snow is pretty much spring mush down low, and bullet proof, with a skiff of icing sugar at the top.

Got some great turns in some fresh snow today. Lot's of wind and -0 temps. check the weather out, http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=43.41626581002021&lon=-72.69694866804576&site=all&smap=1#.VOEwPvnF_y2

Could be a bit chilly tomorrow. It's 0F here in town now.

The tree's are great, not much wind, lot's of dry light snow. I had a few turns today, going back to the lift, where the powder blew up over my head with the wind. Other area's the snow was blown like a washboard, groomed, fresh snow, groomed, fresh snow.

I'd take pictures but it's to freak'in cold to take the gloves off. I will take a shot of the driveway here later. Headed out on the 8:50 bus to ski a few runs, then off the Rutland, VT for a afternoon movie.

Lots of people are saying it doesn't get much better then this. The snow really is that good. The real nice thing was, zero wind yesterday. -3F but it warmed to the mid teens.

I had a blast yesterday skiing with a friends wife, while he had to go back to work. We had over 11,000 vertical by 9:30AM, took a 30 minute break then skiied till noon, total was almost 22,000 vertical feet and 17 runs. She skis slow so by my normal speed and the two friends I normally ski with.

I went back out for an hour after lunch, skied 4 runs at my normal speed to to bottom with bumps involved in all four runs. I would have stayed out longer, but I knew the GF was back at the house ready to get home. We had a good 4 days.

I love the fact that I could rail the edges into the snow and do highspeed carves from edge to edge of the trail. The skis held like that were attached to the snow. It feels so great to drop the hip in the turn and feel the skis come around, pop you up and change edges then repeat the process. My inside hand is about a foot off the snow, yet driving forward.

So jealous of your east coast snow!

I've pretty much decided that the Tahoe area isn't going to get any more snow so I might as well call it a season. 10 Days at Sun Peaks and then a Friday night trip to Tahoe to ski fake snow with my GF. She's from SoCal so she only knew fake snow so that just means I will have to take her to ski some real snow somewhere.

Two great days of skiing at Mount Snow this weekend!

Saturday was F*ING cold, but great hard packed trails for high speed sweeping turns. Here's my Trace/AlpineReplay logs from Saturday (hopefully they work, let me know if they don't and I'll try to figure it out):

http://snow.traceup.com/stats?id=122552&vId=1213683

Snowed 8-10" Saturday night, and temps rose about 25 degrees. Sunday was all powder/packed powder and ~28 degrees all day. Some of the best snow conditions I've ever had on the east coast. Lots of runs through the glades and some lesser known trails. Sunday logs:

Gah! I'm just not taking advantage of it. It's getting me down at home. I've got ice dams everywhere with water coming in the house, the wife is working 80 hour weeks right now and the 3 small children are winning. Did get some pretty epic turns in at Okemo 2 weekends ago. Unfortunately one of the days was one of those 0 visibility deals where the wet snowfall would freeze to your goggles and buildup immediately. But that and some ice skiing on New Years are my only days this year.

That ski logger is awesome pfoyle! Must download nao. Love the top speed feature. 50? That's pretty freakin impressive. I have no idea what my true top speed is. Like not within 10 miles an hour. Guess I need to find out. Thx!

Amazingly, with all the snow we've gotten this was actually my first two days out this year as well... It's incredible how much happier I am after carving some great turns and floating through some fluffy powder! Really sore too... it's been awhile since I've gone back to back days. Getting older is rough! ;)

The app (used to be AlpineReplay, now I think it's called Trace) IS awesome. Just be sure to turn off your wifi, otherwise it'll really chew through your battery. It's also a little "dangerous", at least for someone like me... "49.7mph top speed... Gahhh! So close to 50... maybe if I just push a little harder..." It sometimes taunts my inner stupid.

Excuse the awful cell pics. It just won't stop snowing. After this next round, Southern CO will have seen 5-10' this month!
