Hey F*** you!

Awesome man! Go get it while it's fresh.

I was at Vail for their closing day yesterday, and I feel somewhat burned out on skiing at this point. But I finally hit 40 days this year (a goal I'd fallen short of several times). I'll head to Breckenridge next Sunday for their closing day. Other than that, I will probably only go again if there's a good snowfall at A-Basin.

SOOOO envious! Are the lifts still turning up there, or do you have to earn your turns now?

65 of 75 slopes open at Jay peak. The video I posted was from Feb 14th. They did however get 7ft of snow between March and April though. Pretty killer amount for the east coast. They should be open probably for another 2 weeks or so.

Hey F*** you!

The last week has been incredible. Over 2' has fallen with cold temps all culminating in a blue bird summit day today. I did 4 days straight Tues - Friday and it kept getting better every day. I was solo Friday morning a busted out 7 laps between 9:15 & 10:45 on a freshy bluebird day. Today was awesome though doing long laps all the way from the top. Should have some pics to share later.

Nice!

Yesterday was Breckenridge's closing day. The temps were a bit lower and the snow was falling. It was powder on ice, so you'd have 3 turns on ice/crust, then 5 turns in powder. In the right areas, there were some really nice powder turns on low angle terrain. Not a perfect day, but a great closing day. Turns out I wasn't burned out on skiing, just a conditions snob!

Still hoping for a great dump to go get it at A-basin, but at this point, I'll be ok either way.

I may go after a longtime goal living in Colorado: Ski at least once in every month of a calendar year. Could get real tough in August and September, but could be worth some good hikes! And yes, one run counts in my book.

LOL come ski the east coast at Holiday valley in WNY.... you will think those conditions were probably heavenly. We learn to ski/board on ice.

I learned on ice too. Most everything in Minnesota is man-made snow/ice. Then I went to college in the UP of Michigan at Michigan Tech. The college owned the local ski hill (Mont Ripley) and got about 200-250" of snow. I got so spoiled on fresh snow during my time there that I think I only skied once in Minnesota in the 7 years before I moved to Colorado. Once you get used to skiing on snow, you just can't go back. Not for lack of ability, but for lack of enjoyment.

Winter went out with a bang for us last weekend with snow falling Thursday night through Saturday (almost a foot with temps in the 20's), then a bluebird Summit day on Sunday, which I missed. I did make Friday and Saturday though for a bit each morning. Saturday was 7" overnight and temps in the mid 20's. The whole mountain was completely blanketed and it was deep. Felt like a full on winter storm day, sick.

Here are some pics from May 5th

Nice! I very much enjoyed about 8" on Mothers Day at Arapahoe Basin. Dumping snow, closed passes and powder shared with friends is what I call Spring Skiing!
