Just bought a 2009 GT Limited what can I do to it?

Looks like I have been had. All fun and games until someone goes out and buys a new IC because of what he was told on here. Dirty pool. Not very funny.

We would have stopped you there. The pics were enough! all in good fun bro.

As it was said many times by many different members, doing some searches in the forums will give you great information. I take it you searched for "soap in the intercooler" and might have found some posts that show pictures such as this

^ which is the only solution by the way...

or perhaps this pic

So yeah it was all in good fun, and you should just take it in stride as a learning experience.

BUT, if you are looking for more power, a downpipe and a tune is the ebst bang for the buck in terms of performance gain. If you don't have a tuner near you, and don't want to flash it yourself through an Infamous tune, you can go the accessport route. Install downpipe, install accessport, flash presupplied map in, you're done. 60whp+ gained

Colder air, better cooling of the hot air coming from the turbo before it goes into your intake. Also, they are much more durable to withstand higher psi. The stock one is good for 18psi (stage 2) after that the plastic end tanks can leak/break off. I have the AVO tmic I love it. www.importimageracing.com

+1

Throw away everything from the Honda school of thought. Everyone and their mother who drives their mother's civic thinks an intake and exhaust will net them 300whp.

Even better is when the "intake" is a drop in filter or an aftermaf hose, and the "exhaust" is a leak.

Follow the road map to stage 2 and call it a day.

I will play it safe and get a catted one. Now I have to decide which one to buy.

As others have said the intercooler thing was all in good fun. Conversely, to know if you should buy a catless or a catted DP, we require a picture of you with a shoe on your head.

if you were to get a CAI what would you get?

i made mine my self a dremel tool and some bullshit filter. like everyone said. the stock airbox is good to 350whp. or so . which is the point in time where your transmission pukes its guts out like a 110 pound blond on prom night

  • 2 weeks later...
it's probably your head playing tricks on you because you can now hear the engine revs. as long as it doesn't jump 1000rpms right before it changes gears you should be fine. the 5EAT's 3rd gear is unusual, for some reason the shifting time is different than the other gears. going from 2-3 is usually firmer, and going from 4-3 can be as well...

I mounted my relay on the search button. you know, that little box on the top right side of every page on this forum

I got in trouble last time I chimed in on this thread. Thanks for picking up the slack.

I guess asking questions is frowned apon on this site.

No, but asking questions that have already been answered and are easily searchable is frowned upon.

(This was specifically outlined for you on the very first page of this thread, but apparently you don't listen so well.)

If you had typed "Hella horn relay" into the search box, your 7th listing would be a complete walkthru with pictures. In fact, in the first post in that thread it tells you where to mount the relay. Take a little initiative broseph
