I remember your truck. So sick! I used to see it a lot when I was driving my wagon before I even had my legacy. You used to talk to my ex with the Celica.

Anyhoo..

1. That's a bit awkward.

2. Even more awkward is that I don't remember talking to a girl with a Celica.

3. If I did, I hope she was hot.

Well, in either case, I think we can agree that it's behind us...and keep us posted of your progress. If you make it down to Seattle, let us know.

You got a sick ass ride!

Yeah I have some lame things to take care of these next couple days...

Swapping in a new Gas Filler Neck

Swapping the Diff CV Seals

Pulling the Engine that's currently installed

This weekend I will be getting to the good stuff.

Running the Tucked Brake Lines. Making all the Engine Bay Metal and Painting the Engine Bay. And some Engine Assy. I won't have all the parts for the New Motor till next week but I'll prolly though the bare long block back in once its together so I can put in all the turbo crap and finish the exhaust. Time is short and the To-Do list is long. haha.

Hey all. Got some Updates for ya. Finally finished swapping out some of the last bits of rust in the poor Lego. I was having some issues filling my car with fuel. It would take a long time and it would sometimes spill out onto the floor. No good. Upon removing the stock one I see why. (Note the Holes at the top...)

Got a new filler neck off an 05 STi. Almost perfect fit just needed to do a couple little things and she fit like a glove.

Next it was time to put my rear end back in. Swapped in new Diff seals, cleaned up the crossmember and swapped in the front crossmember for a cleaner newer one. Installed some Whiteline bushings, a Beatrush diff brace, OBX Adjustable Lateral Links and some Whiteline Endlinks. Now my rear suspension is 100% modified and ready to infinite adjustability.

Now I just need to re-install the gas tank vent system and make the mounting frame for my new muffler.

Next I went up front to start doing some of the custom metal work. After cleaning up all the crap I wanted to remove my helper came up with a design that looks great so we started mocking up.

Pizza Boxes can be very useful... :)

So tonight I'll get both sides cut out of metal and weld them in. We are going to work on the back piece. I'm also going to start assy on the new long block so I can pull the old motor tomorrow morning. I am going to have the Engine bay finished and painted by the end of Sat so Sun I can install the new motor and get the turbo parts back on to do exhaust fab. So everything is going pretty smooth.

Lots of updates and pics for Mon.

So I got a bunch of stuff done this weekend. I got the rest of the tank evap stuff in the car from the STi mounted so it won't interfere with my mufflers. I tore the block of the 2.2L down to get it ready for a new gasket kit and re-assy with the WRX Heads. Got the old motor out and stripped of all the parts I needed to transplant to the new engine.

So with all the lame stuff out of the way we can move onto the good stuff. We took the cardboard cutouts of the wheel tubs and replicated them in metal and tacked them on.

Then my helper finished making the cover plate for the whipper motor and it came out awesome.

Then once I got all the welding done and grinded a new shinny coat of POR15 to finish it all off.

This week is going to be a busy one. I'll be doing the Assembly on the Motor. I need to pull my tranny out really fast so I can tap it for the starter motor. I'll be running all the Brake Lines. Installing the Muffler section of the Exhaust and re-installing the calipers and rotors. More pics and updates to come.

Well you pretty much start by relocating many of the sensors and electrical items that are mounted to your engine bay. Then what wiring you see that you want to hide you can ether re-route after you remove the loom and tape and whatever you need to shorten or extend can be done as needed with ether soldering and shrink wrap or butt connectors. I would have a volt meter with a continuity checker handy to double check your work as you go along. It takes time and its a bit tedious but the result IMO is worth it. The hardest part is probably relocating the fuse box. I'm putting mine in the trunk meaning I have to de-loom about 5ft of wire. Split all the wires out from the rats nest so I can turn them around and then extend about 45-50 wires an additional 5ft. It takes about 3 hours alone to do it. Most put the fust box in the fender but you have to be careful about water and its a pain in the ass if you have to remove a wheel to change or check a fuse...

Well given the price of the car. I have about 8500 into it. The tranny I don;t count because it was from another project and I take back what I have sold. So I know I am still under 9k but by the time this is over and my car is Auto Xing again I will be over the 9k mark.

Anyway....

I dropped the tranny last night and taped it for the starter to run with the older gen Legacy Block. I installed some Kartboy tranny X-Member Bushings, and some Group N Front and Rear Shifter Bushings. I think just about every bushing and joint on the Lego has been swapped out at this point. Also got my Brake Bias Block installed and ran all the string to get the lengths for my hardlines. I forgot my line cutter at work so instead of running the lines like I was planing I moved over to the engine.

Got the short block pretty much assembled and ready to go. I just have a couple more things I need to do to it but I have to wait till I get the heads on to finish the longblock.

Tonight I'll start by running all the hardlines and finishing the brakes. My new custom Girodisc Brake and Clutch Line come in next week so I will be able to button up the brakes and get the car off the lift hopefully by next Friday. Once the Lines are done (and I have taken pics) I'll be moving back to the engine to try and get the longblock finished. I need to pull the heads off a WRX longblock I have and transfer them over with all new gaskets and such.

More pics tomorrow. This week is mainly consisting of getting the engine finished and all the running gear back in the car so this weekend I can tackle the exhaust and wiring.
