Not big on leather bands myself, but that one does set off the watch nicely!!

I'm fond of Fossil watches, went into the Fossil outlet in Jeffersonville, OH and wanted to go with a different color other than silver... but for a nice watch between 50 and 150 dollars.. I like em :)

android mens virtuoso tungsten tourbillon....just saw it on shopnbc. Beautiful watch! If I had an extra thousand, that would be in my collection! As I understood it, this isn't the Swiss tourbillon (I heard those can go for up to 6 figures), but the Chinese version that is fairly comparable. Really nice looking.

Like this one, but white. REALLY liked the transparent back, all of the jewels are visible.

I know this may be beneath the watch gurus, but does anyone have any insight into binary LED watches. They seem pretty cool as a fun, casual watch.

If that's what you like, go for it.

What do you watch gurus thing of Torgeon watches?

Looks to be a standard quartz-based fashion type watch. AGain, if you liek the style, go for it, just don't spend too much.

Since we're on the subject of asking, I may be interested in a purely mechanical timepiece. Any good brands out there that don't break the bank?

Tons. Lots of great brands like JDM Seikos, Longines, Hamilton, Stowa, Debaufre, Steinhart, Tissot, Oris.

Seems like form is winning out over function. I like my fairly basic Casio G-Shock Waveceptor, since I love the automatic atomic clock sync and the fact that it solar (or almost light source) powered. Cheap, functional, rugged...

Might be time to upgrade to more features, who doesn't need a compass, altimeter, and barometer on their watch ?!

i'm with you on that, i have the g-shock riseman myself for my everyday watch. for work/office, i do need something more dressy, so i usually just get whatever looks nice on amazon for cheap (invicta, bulova, citizen). if they break or if i lose it, it's no big deal. but i can see the appeal of a high end watch for what it is. just doesn't really float my boat.

for my next watch i'm interested in getting a luminox. anyone have one of those on here?

I also have a Luminox 20th Anniversary in the Red-Gray with either: black composite band with red stitching or a black bund band with gray stitching

I ended up getting it from the scratch and dent section for pretty cheap, and the only issue was with the band. I was going to replace it anyway. I had an Original Luminox on a Zulu Dive Band w/ Low Light Hardware, which is now my Dad's because this one was so unique.

They also come in a green.

I want this

http://www.uscav.com/prodinfo/enlarged/33378L.jpg

but I just got this as a gift :-( and I hate it. Too big, too heavy. My wife hated my old Casio saying I need to look professional. She dropped the ball, though, not asking me what I would be OK with.

I use my cell phone. Or my car clock. Or my laptop clock. Or I look at the sun's position in the sky.

There's so many damn ways to tell time - who needs a watch!!!!

ugh, not this again...

The short answer is...probably the same sort of person who would buy a manual LGT for a daily driver instead of an automatic camry. Both will get you from Point A to Point B just as effectively, but one is just better than the other.

The "go-to" watch is a TIMEX Ironman digital watch. Last forever, and can knock them around with no issues. The REAL watch is a Tag, Calibre S...it has a black face, which goes with just about any suit you can throw at it, and any other outfit you may wear out and about. Love it, and would highly recommend a Tag to anyone (though many are loyal to a particular brand, in which case...to each his own).

I love my TAG, but it's a mid-90's S/el and at 38mm it's a tad small in today's world. My wife wears it more than I do.

That being said..probably not going to buy another TAG. They are kinda  to me.

it's a personal preference thing. for some it's an accessory for an outfit, others it can be a useful tool (see posts on watches that feature altimeter, barometer, compass functions etc).

but for others it's possible your lifestyle doesn't necessitate the use of a watch
