SBT
Since I just installed the Killer B Extended Oil Pan, I may just do that... but determining the sensor size (that went into the sandwich adapter) so I can find a 1/2" NPT plug, with that female sensor thread in it, may be a challenge. Doing research to see if I can determine what size that sensor is. Believe the Defi OT sensor is 1/8" BSPT male. So need a 1/2 NPT Male Hex Head plug with a 1/8" BSPT female port. Also, going to order the Subaru 11024AA210 Galley plug w/1/8" BSPT female port to relocate the OP sender to the extra galley location. Would like to get both senders relocated before the engine goes back in. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

Bimmer
But how is it flowing? Your just reading block temperaure i would think I honestly don't know. The galley is big, and the sensor is in the middle of it, so I assume that there's a lot of flow. At least when the engine's running and the oil is flowing, it definitely seems like oil temp, and not block temp... Though I'm not sure the difference matters. I used to have the same sender in the pan, and the readings in the galley are different, but comparable.

SBT
Pressure Relief Valve Specifications for the Purolator 14610P = 14-22 psi Subaru OEM threshold for filter pressure relief valve is 23.2 psi for 4th Gen SOHC/DOHC, 5th Gen FB25 and EJ255, and, without checking, likely the 6th Gen FB25. On that basis alone, I'd pay the few extra cents for a Mazda TR RX8 filter since it's the same filter as the AA160 (which has been replaced by the Honeywell Blue) FB25 OEM filter. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

Find me 1 case where 1.2 psi difference on an oil filter has made a difference. It's still not going to stop the metal bits from the turbo from going everywhere. It's still not going to stop the metal bits from the turbo from going everywhere. It's not just 1 psi. The purolator could have its bypass valve set as low as 14 psi, and still be in spec, which is 9psi too low. That makes it too low for me to feel remotely comfortable. 2003 Baja 5MT 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight

Chris GTO TT
At least they give the range the oem one could have an even larger range, they just dont tell you. Most other manufacturers tolerance tends to be 1-2 psi not 8 psi. Wix for example sells their filters with the correct bypass rating and doesn't even list a range of the bypass valve could be. Is there a tolerance? Yes but I doubt it's 8psi. http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=1901532 2003 Baja 5MT 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight
