Chump car challange

Someone pls school me on Google Wave. What's that all about and how can we use it for this Chumpcar event/prep? I tried reading the article on Wiki but reading and comprehension fail me today! Must have been the tequila shots, hard cider, beer and wine consumed over the weekend.... and plus a cigar.

Just accept it log in and see what it is about. I really don't fully understand it yet but I know that the more I use it the more I'll understand it.

:yeahthat:

I'm still figuring it out, too (as is Google apparently :lol), but the short version is: it's kind of like a forum in that you can have posts, polls, and responses to the posts, but each member of the wave can also go back and edit any of the posts made, and those edits show up in real-time, so it's also potentially usable as a chat thingy (though there's a few seconds delay).

One way this might be useful for us: if we start a checklist for the project, we won't be reliant on the original poster to update the list when a job is done - whoever did it could get on and change that item to completed, and throw a few details in if necessary. Also, being not-a-public-forum, it lets us keep our super secret plans for ChumpCar domination secret ;)

No stock LSD options on the Escort. We could do a Mazdaspeed Protege diff if we changed out to a G-series gear box from a 3rd Gen but they run about the same price as a Phantom grip.

Bummer. Maybe we should get a wagon diff anyways...Tommy and I are sure they're better!:lol:

Accepted my wave invite.

Cool; I added you to the waves we have going :)

I got another batch of 17 invites, so I'm available again...

Engine and tranny out of the car. 1/2 of the interior pre-gutted. The other half is coming out on Thursday if Tommy is up to it.

I'll have the tranny and the engine separated before new years ready for a new clutch.

Who can get a truck big enough to transport a 14x5.5' space shuttle main engine from FL for free? Pony Express is about to get a 400,000 lb-ft boost button

Recession Special: NASA cuts space shuttle price

AP Aerospace Writer

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. —

Here's a recession bargain: the space shuttle. NASA has slashed the price of these 1970s era spaceships from $42 million to $28.8 million apiece.

The shuttles are for sale once they quit flying, supposedly this fall.

When NASA put out the call to museums, schools and others in December 2008, seeking buyers, about 20 expressed interest. NASA spokesman Mike Curie expects more interest, what with the discount.

"We're confident that we'll get other takers," Curie said Friday.

Discovery is already promised to the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum. Atlantis and Endeavour are up for grabs. It's possible that Enterprise, a shuttle prototype that never made it to space, also will be available. Enterprise currently is at the Smithsonian.

Curie said no decisions will be made before summer.

The new lower price is based on NASA's estimate of the cost for transporting a shuttle from Kennedy Space Center to a major U.S. airport, and for displaying it indoors in a climate-controlled building. The travel cost may vary based on location. NASA has moved up the delivery date to the latter half of 2011, instead of 2012.

Potential customers have until Feb. 19 to put in a request.

As for the space shuttle main engines, those are now free. NASA advertised them for $400,000 to $800,000 each in December 2008, but no one expressed interest. So now the engines are available, along with other shuttle artifacts, for the cost of transportation and handling.

Assembly will be required, however.

Is that like an Easy Button?

We could try to get someone in the military to ship it, my brother sends stuff pretty cheaply through the USAF. Cost him a lot less to ship two huge boxes weighing about 150lbs total from Bagdad to Seattle than it did for me to ship a 15 lb box of Oberto factory seconds & other goodies for his Wing from here to his APO.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.
