adhdrockstar
go for a RWD instead of AWD car I had my fun with a 240 for a year, and yeah you can make them look great and all but I'm just saying the staggered look, makes that wagon stand out and look so good, whether its practical is another reason. Then again when modding a car there is never to far. It's all just money. -Urban Cowboy

Akuma
These are classic. Very nice wheel. Offset won't add that much of a lip. The rear wheels are more then likely a 18x9.5 with a +15, 22 or a 18x10.5 +18 But my guess is more then likey an 18x 10.5 judging by the following picture. http://www.j-specperf.ch/images/set_ce28n_genesis.jpg
TheDon427
Wow... Just found this thread.... I did the JDM Sport Bumper just like SpawnGT and i think we are the only two. N.sane
That car is sold. Not sure of the new owner is active on here though. And you have an 08, so you'll also need 07 headlights, fenders, and probably the hood too.
W.K.S.
Is there actually a List of things necessary to do a JDM bumper conversion? I've seen pictures, rough descriptions, but never a documented list of parts needed for a conversion.
TheBlubaru
I believe all you need is the JDM bumper beam and a JDM fitment grill. I could be wrong though. God created turbo lag to give V8s a chance
Naylor
you'll want jdm fender liners or you'll have to trim the usdm ones.

cholmes1
Well I'll make the list: JDM Bumper Bumper Beam Bumper Brackets Shock Absorber Fender Liners Fog Lights This is all 2005-2007 not 08+. Don't want anyone in our group getting their hopes up like I did earlier last year For the 08-09 take all of the above and add actual JDM fenders and JDM headlamps. Also, there is still some concern about proper hood fitment but nothing conclusive yet.
Leke
^ the hood fits just fine.

Someone please clarify if the 08-09 fogs need the same modification to fit for a JDM conversion New list (Most complete retrofit): 05-07 (Rev A-C) JDM Bumper Bumper Beam (or cut USDM beam) Bumper Brackets Shock Absorber Fender Liners (or cut original liners) Fog Lights (JDM brackets, DIY brackets, or entire assemblies cut out of USDM bumper.) 08-09 (Rev D-F) JDM Headlights Fenders Bumper Bumper Beam (or cut USDM beam) Bumper Brackets Shock Absorber Fender Liners Fog Lights (JDM brackets, DIY brackets, or entire assemblies cut out of USDM bumper.) Leke
No bracket needed on the 08-09 for the fogs. Stock fogs will work. Be sure to distinguish the 'bumper brackets' as there's two sets. One for the headlights and the side bracket that holds in the bumper to the fender. The latter of the two brackets may or may not carry over from the USDM bumper. They're dirt cheap, so one might as well pick them up just to be safe. If you really want to be complete with the install, you'll need a headlight leveling switch and the plugs that attach to the leveling motor. The plugs can be purchased from a Toyota or Lexus dealer. You'll need a way to rig the stock headlight system to the JDM lights, as the harness and bulbs are different. The JDM has a separate parking light bulb whereas the USDM parking light is integrated with the turn signal bulb. apexjapan
Doh! I even have photos of it I took: http://www.sevenphotos.com/soobserver/data/07_legacy_preview.data/size_2/_L2Y6562.jpg But I believe that was introduced back into Japan with the facelift in 07 (08 elsewhere). I don't recall ever covering an Outback for the 04-06 model years. apexjapan
It's been a while, so maybe... The problem was that the overfenders would have pushed it out of the size class it was in for parking/tax reasons, so it's possible that it was available, but nobody bought it. I can't recall ever seeing one on the street.
KCwagon
There is a guy on here who has a jdm outback rear bumper with exhaust cutouts. Ordered from Japanparts. The guy you are referring to is Scooby2.5. His rear bumber is a JDM Legacy Wagon/Outback bumper. He ordered it color matched and with a new/shorter bumper beam. You might give him a shout for the details. Edited May 9, 2012 by KCwagon
