SARCruiser Posted December 14, 2012 Share Posted December 14, 2012 Just happened to me last night. LGT is fixable, her car, probably not so much... I was headed one way, she was headed the other and made a left turn in front of me, no way for me to stop in time. I hit just in front of her passenger rear wheel well. She spun around, caught the curb with the driver's rear wheel which sheared off at the hub and went under her car. My wife was in the passenger seat. I got the full police report and they said after assessing the skid marks I was only doing between 55-60 as well. I really wish I could remember what happened so I cld not do that again. I went back in the daylight yesterday and actually found two of the capture nuts that had been ripped out of the Pontiac's frame/unibody on the suspension. It's definitely dead. Couldn't have happened to a nicer vehicle... On the Legacy side, I have a really good body shop that always takes good care of me so as long as her insurance doesn't jerk me around, it should be OK. Sad part is, I just had the whole front end redone less than a year ago (new bumper, grill, headlight, fresh paint on hood, a-pillars, mirrors) after getting stuck behind a gravel truck Not a legacy but it was the whole reason I bought a legacy. torquelover Posted December 18, 2012 Share Posted December 18, 2012 Not an LGT, but why I am not looking for one now. My '08 Impreza. Hit by a fully loaded 4-axle dump truck just after the b-pillar. Spun a few times, went airborn, flew through the air according to witnesses (the hit blacked me out). Took out a utility pole with the bottom of the car, a street sign with the top of the hood. Landed on it's side about 50' off the road. No tracks through the snow up to the car, just fell out of the sky lol. Hit was hard enough for me to hit the passenger side door, lost part of my eyebrow, broke three ribs, a lot of weird bruises. Lucky to be here.
