Thanks for all the replies.

I will be near SEARS since that side of the mall is closest to the Highway On-Ramp. I'll try to park on the outer edges of the lot so there's no cars near me.

Look for my ABP 06 Leggy in all of her 2.5i stockness lol.

My cell # is:

262-894-6833 Ask fof Matt (Kinda weird when people ask for "ZZZz" or "Z Tech" lol)

I'd also like to know about how many people will be meeting up @ Brookfield Square Mall so lemme know.

Thanks Yall

Um, yeah, I screwed that pic post up lol.

We should definately start thinkin about the next meet/meets. I talked w/ Living Legacy about the "Subaru" meet that is supposed to be comin up soon. I'll do some lookin around to see if i can find more info about it. If anyone else finds any meet info let us know. There's lots of things we could do, Brewers game, Car Shows and Auto-X to name a few. Hopefully we can get something set up soon.

Matt- that's why I had to be quiet at the meet while we were talkin about Auto-X meets, Jenny was standin right there

It's alot of safe fun. Even if you don't beat on your car it's fun jst to go along and ride with people.

Pictures and vids looks awesome guys, I'm jealous! I've heard rumors that AutoX voids warranties. Is this true?

I don't think it does if you don't modify the car (which would void the warranty anyway). I know for insurance purposes, that AutoX is equivalent risk to normal highway driving. And with the exception of the tires and brakes (both wear items) and maybe wheel bearings eventually, autocrossing isn't all that hard on the car, as long as you're running a warm engine and you keep up on the maintance schedules and everything. Besides... it makes you a better driver on the street.

I was there last sunday also, and it was a blast. And, Matt, it was nice meeting you.

Next event in Milwaukee is May 4th. I think I'm going to try to get some in-car video for that one... I need to come up with a way to mount my camera... I'm thinking I'll try to mount it in front of the rear window, maybe I'll be able to even use the hole for the post of the rear headrest or something.

For sure man, it was good meeting you too-and THANKS for the ride along, it was awesome. I've really been thinking about the tires situation and I'm leaning more towards keeping the stock rims and just getting some nice tires, maybe even before the next event.

Good call with the headrest post, that would be the best idea unless you come up with something real complex...

I'm pretty sure that Auto X doesn't void the warranty, I've asked the dealership about it awhile back and (although I'm not 100%) I'm pretty sure they said it was cool. Heck, the dealership even said that I could get an AP as long as I didn't turn the boost up big time. I think it's all about the dealership that you visit.

It was good to put some faces with the screen names. I enjoyed meeting you guys, and chatting for a minute. My apologies for disappearing, but we had a long day ahead of us and I wanted to check out some of the other cars that were there as well.

On another note, autox is usually ok with the dealerships, until you start modding the car beyond the rules of the stock classes. Then the mods get more visually noticeable, and they tend to not like it. I wouldn't push my luck by giving them a copy of the tape or anything though, or by doing mods that can't easily be reversed before takling it in for service, if you know what I'm saying. ;)

I actually did get some of my autocross caused "damage" repaired under warranty. The little plastic door for the oil filter was ripped off when a cone got stuck under my car. I ripped it off and was going to live without it because the plastic screws were a pain to deal with anyway, but when I brought it in for an oil change, they offered to order a new one.

You can see it in this pic

actually this brings back bad memories... zero clean runs and I was schooled by my co-driver (even without the cone penalties):spin:

I'm glad to see more of us going to Auto-X events. They are alot of fun.

The only way a dealer would know if you did damage during an Auto-X is if you walk in and say "Hi, I was out autocrossing and pushed it too hard. During the autocroos i bounced off the rev-limiter a couple hundred times and now i think my head gasket is blown. Can you please fix my autocross damaged car under warranty? Thanks" lol

I'll see if i can make it to the next run out at Miller Park just to watch and maybe do some corner work.

Speaking of Miller Park. Lets decide on what day/night works best for everyone. I'm thinking we could do a Saturday night or Sunday day game.

Toss in your votes....

Me too. This last weekend was the first time I've seen more than 2 Legacy's running (I think we had 5 drivers). Most events last year, it was either just me, or me and one other Legacy.

You should just bite the bullet and enter your car May 4th. If you're too protective of your car, you'll one day realise that it has 200,000 miles on it and you still have no idea what its really capable of, because its simply been a means of getting from point A to point B. This next event I've even offered a friend of mine to co-drive my car, for his first time autocrossing. I figure the first time, he can cover his own entry fee and a bit for gas, and if he wants more after that, he can start paying for tires also.

Plus, its really not all that hard on the car (except tires, brakes, and wheel bearings) for several reasons:

1. You're only running for 50-70 seconds at a time. So it really isn't long enough to heat up the engine more than normal. I'll usually let the car run for 5 minutes after a run to let everything cool down with the radiator and intercooler running. Much of the time you're either on the brakes or in a turn, so you're not on the gas the whole time anyway.

2. I have yet to bounce the engine off the rev limiter while autocrossing since even the fastest courses are slow enough to stay in 2nd gear. Besides bouncing the engine off the rev limiter for a second or so will not hurt the engine (its there to protect the engine). It would likely take going 1000 RPM's or more past the rev limiter to actually do any damage. You should see what some of the Evo's with launch control will do.... They'll sit at the start line with the engine bouncing off the rev limiter before they drop the clutch, letting the computer take over.

3. Since the driving surface is smooth and clean, you're not going to hurt your chassis or suspension. Hitting a pothole at 45 mph is going to be much harder on your suspension than a few autocross runs will be.

Gotta go slow to go fast...;)

I used to autox my MR2 Turbo a lot, but I lost compression in one cylinder last season, so I don't plan on doing much this year. It's currently being rebuilt for national level autox. I will be running the Leggy once though this season, just to see what she's got, and hopefuly my NA MR2 once before I sell that.

I highly recommend that people at least try it before writing it off. It really is far more benign than most think. That's not to say it's boring though. Even on a slow course, you'll be so busy you won't even realize how quickly it's going by.

I wouldn't run full season after full season unless you're really into it (I am), but once in a while is a good thing. The whole argument about speeding up your reaction times and increasing your situational awareness on the street are right on as well. If that was the only benefit of autox, I'd still do it several times a year.

My Turbo in action (the "stickers" are actually magnets.) :
