From Nasioc:

Just picked it up today.

Traded my 06 OBS. Never had a WRX before.

If anyone has any questions about the new car, feel free to ask.

More from Nasioc:

Finally got the new car in! Here is the *unmodified* pictures of the car as it was delivered today. It will look like this for at least a few minutes, but after that, it's being pulled apart and gone through like a 6-pack of good beer!

I saw one in person at the Mach V show a few weekends ago. The interior, while a big step forward, still isn't as nice as the LGT though it has some cool things like NAV. The taillights and chrome strip must go. Overall, it's nice but cleaning those wheels is a PITA...I should know....I cleaned them for the show after Dan went and got them dirty on a quick test drive

I kinda want one, although turned off that you can't get navigation with the automatic WRX. I am hoping the STI is available in hatchback form without a big gaudy wing on the rear.

Hopefully the STI will have will have a widebody rearend with wider wheels/tires

300+ hp and a automated manual (like a DSG-style tranny)

My LGT will officially be 3 years old on Friday. I have the extended warranty and that should get me to the 4year mark with zero head-aches. To celebrate the 3-year mark - I will be driving her up to the mountains after work on Friday, where I will spend the 3 full days carving up some really nice backwoods mountain roads.

SOA has been very good to me, and looking forward to getting another Suby next year. I like my car, but I really want navigation, satellite radio, iPod/MP3 player connectivity, and better audio.

^agree on all counts....my 07 has most of those features (no GPS) and all are upgrades that make me like it so much more than my 05. I have two years before I get a new car and alot is going to change between now and then in the sports sedan market.

Thanks for posting the pics...the black bar between the tails definately helps but those white lights are still terrible. I am looking forward to see what the aftermarket brings...the white w/the gold wheels is by far the best I have seen so far

Something about the sport grill isn't right to me. Is the Subaru logo too small maybe?

Is this the same person who was so pissed that his LGT was a lemon? I must have missed the thread, is your car totally fixed? I remember you saying you wouldn't even take it to the mountains for fear of it breaking down.

After seeing all the pics and seeing both the hatch and sedan in person, I would definately vote for the hatch, I like the way it looks better. The sedan, well at least the rear, leaves much to be desired. So, when are we going to see more pics of the hatch?? I would lower and tint, and perhaps apply red vinyl to the tails on the hatch, to start, but I generally like the way it looks, much better than the sedan.

Subaru WRX STI Prototype

By Chris Paukert

Issue 24, September 2007

Subaru’s hotly anticipated WRX STI was recently spotted circling Germany’s Nürburgring, and our men in the trees at KGP Photography captured the prototype both on- and off-track. If this mule is any judge, the WRX’s controversial mug has been reworked somewhat, with the standard car’s egg-crate grille being broomed in favor of a mesh insert, along with a more aggressive front bumper cap and lower fascia. Flared fenders front and back add some much-needed aggression to the STI’s form, as does a rear wing. Out back, the prototype’s new aero-effects bumper nicely exhibits a set of dual exhausts.

More importantly, the STI is expected to package a tuned version of Subaru’s 2.5-liter engine, which should give it in excess of 300 horsepower and around 295 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual is expected to be the gearbox of choice until an Aisin-sourced automated manual becomes available in 2009.

The STI is earmarked to debut at this October’s Tokyo Motor Show before it goes on sale next year.

The hatch version almost looks like a BMW X3. They really didn't need to add any head room to the car, it already had enough. Now it looks like a mini suv :( Oh well, the Legacy was the last good looking Subaru. My next car won't be a Subaru, but my 2002 WRX and 2005 Legacy treated me well over the years, its to bad they all look like shit now, minus the legacy, but I am sure the new one will look bad whenever it comes out).

stopped by the dealership today because my brakes have a little squeal and because they have quite a few in front now..Impreza's and WRX's in both Sedan and Hatch.

They had the hatches proudly displayed and the sedan hidden behind. Just glancing at them while driving thru the lot slowly they look ok.

Dropping off the Legacy tomorrow morning for them to look at the brakes I will go thru really look at them, sit in them etc tomorrow...maybe bring the camera if necessary but as many as they have now I would think all of you can see them at the dealerships?
