m_dogg
Tires rotated, wheels re-balanced. Sadly no change.
utc_pyro
A warm out ball joint can cause vibrations. That is what lead to me swapping in these arms the RocAuto arms which had defective ball joints out of the box.
lilredwagon
Have you had good luck with the ball joints in these? I recall a post a while back about these coming with bad ball joints and inner bushings.
1-3-2-4
About to do my front control arms in a few weeks so the ball joints are crap?
utc_pyro
Yep they are garbage. One of my ball joints went bad about 300 miles in, the other is starting to make noise. Traildogck mentioned in another thread someone local to him had one fail catastrophically while driving. So i'm terrified that's going to happen any time I drive my car (roughly 10 miles once or twice a week). Going to have them and the arms replaced next month as part of a total suspension overhaul. Going back to my SpecB arms with whiteline bushings and roll center kit.
1-3-2-4
I was going to buy these but replace the ball joints before I put them on the car
m_dogg
Found my problem, u-joint... I don't believe it's serviceable on these cars, correct?
xt2005bonbon
Can't believe it but my whiteline rear control arm bushings are shot . 40k on them. I am lifted a bit (~1inch higher than stock OB height) but still.
Code
I’m pretty sure that they will replace them for free. "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder

covertrussian
Depends on which ones you went with, KCA bushings only have 3 year warranty. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
busyychild
What is the general consensus on the Mevotech version of these LCAs? I have read through this entire thread and it seems people are only having issues with the Ultra-Powers. My bushings and ball joints are in need of a change on my 08 SpecB. If the there is a quality bolt on option, I’ll take that over pressing bushings out.
BoozeRS05
I’ve had Mevotech aluminum lower front arms for over 2-3 years now and they’re in great shape, although I’ve probably only driven 8k miles since then. 1 EB's Subaru journal - 2005 LegacyGT Wagon & 2014 Forester FB25 (2008 specB - RIP) IG@legacygtliving
seanyb505
You could always throw on the mevotechs, and get some decent quality bushings pressed into the stock arms for the next time you have to replace bushings. It's just the rears that need pressing.
KZJonny
+1 for the mevotechs. I get the feeling they changed something/improved the ball joints from what they were originally using. Seems like the complaints I was seeing before about premature failures kinda dropped off over time. Now, I've 'improved' all the suspension in my GT, and just refreshed my OB, but the mevotechs are quieter and have better ride compliance than the control arms in the OB, which are OE style ball joint/front bush and an energy suspension push in rear bush. Next time, I'll either go back to OE style rear bushes, or just pony up for a set of mevotechs for the daily. Not worth the time and effort to go poly, in my opinions and really noisy as a result a well.
kzr750r1
Funny this came back up. Haven't circled back if I gave any input. After several thousand miles on the movtechs I'm going back to stock with STI and LGT bushings. My issue has been the bushings groan after the chassis heat soaks. Casting is probably fine but the bushings are short lived. I used OEM ball joint and could probably reuse them on the old arms but I'll buy a new set just to call it done for a few thousand more miles.
