Alpine F31
Would there have been any way to install a STI 6 speed and keep it AWD? That was not an option.
boxkita
Wow! nice build. You'l have to post pics when you get it on the autocross track. Alpine F31
Wow! nice build. You'l have to post pics when you get it on the autocross track. For some reason, I have visions of your first run being more of a drifting exhibition. I can tell you the car is VERY tail happy. Power induced oversteer is ridiculously easy. I've been running 215/40 18 Hankook V12's on 8 inch wide wheels. I just swapped some Hankook Rs3's, 235/40-18's on the rear (they rubbed on the front) so hopefully it will be a little better balanced. BTW, brakes are in the mail Still researching suspension options. I made a video. It really sucked so I'm not posting it. I'll try again.
boxkita
If you are still running stock suspension and still have access to your fabricator, you might look into a custom rear setup. Especially if you tub the rears to allow for more tire Build my car Boxkita Track days

lockmedic
lol where are you gonna put the coilover shocks and trailing arms on that tubbed suspension? Be easier to flare it. Can't go in without major mods. Straight axle anyone?

Especially if you tub the rears to allow for more tire I never considered tubs. That's an interesting idea. One of the most expensive modifications we did was the axles. I'd have to spend a lot more money to modify or replace them to accommodate tubs. For now I'm going to enjoy the car as is. I'm really looking forward to getting the brakes on and I'm researching suspension options right now. Thanks everyone for all the ideas!
baci
Kudos man! A ls swap project subie has been a dream of mine for a while, so this was great to see. boxkita
looking at this picture, there doesn't appear to a rear trailing arm like on the 4th gens? If not, have more room on the inside for a bigger tire. lockmedic
If you tub it, the interior bits won't fit anymore. Possibly even the rear seat would need to be modified. With flares, they will. Widebody BG anyone?

Alpine F31
Flares are something I'd consider at some point. Tubs aren't gonna happen. I did put some wider rubber on the back since that underneath shot was taken. It has 234/40-18's now. The old tires were 215/40-18. http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141114_091511_zps7979e34b.jpg It's hard to show in the picture but the car looks cool with staggered size tires. http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141114_092311_zpsfe477323.jpg

Alpine F31
I desperately needed to upgrade my stock brakes for obvious reasons. Continuing my theme of being a little contrarian, I decided to go with Wilwood instead of the ubiquitous Brembos. I had a couple of set backs due to wrong parts being shipped and the "Kit" being anything but bolt on, but the result was well worth the hassle. I just got it finished and it's raining so I haven't felt the full force of the brakes yet but the initial bite that I did feel is fantastic. Here are a few pics: http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141212_134224_zps35255a7f.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141212_134458_zps5d1c5b1c.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141216_101842_zps2bf8da19.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141216_101906_zps86eed6e4.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141216_114400_zps20b8ddbf.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141216_114409_zps6779f707.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t498/bunnv1/LS2BARU/20141216_101829_zps1f40c551.jpg
